I think there are so many great book recommendations here, but I constantly misplace the threads I find them on. I suggest that we start a thread for book recommendations/reviews.

Format:

Book Title
Author

Brief description - what does it address?

Your comments - what did you think of it?

I'll start.

Couples and the Art of Play
Keith Hackett

This book talks about how as adults, we have let go of "playtime" with our partners. He talks about simple ways to build playtime back into your relationship and how this commitment to playing together can strengthen your relationship.

I really liked this book. It's not very long and his suggestions are easy to follow. My H and I attended a workshop he did and found it gave us lots of ideas on how to spend time together having fun. It fits very well with MB principles.

Mimi,

The book BOLD LOVE, does that apply to just victims of abuse also. People who are no longer with the abuser, or is it for relationship advice?

Okay. I was in an abusive relationship. Would the book benefit me since I am no longer with that person?

I think it would help you...

It is Christian-based, though, in case that matters to you...

Unfaithful: Rebuilding Trust After Infidelity
Gary & Mona Shriver

This book is written by a married couple about their experiences as H admits a LTA and the two recover through it. Christian-based. Matches up well with MB principles.

I liked this book because it discussed his emotions and her emotions throughout the recovery process. I could identify with her (and not feel as crazy) and gain insight into the WS by hearing his thoughts.
