I'll post this here, Mimi, so I'm sure you'll see it. I just figured out which post you were talking about, and it wasn't the one I was thinking of. I thought you were talking about my definition of a Clam post, and since I thought that one was blandly generic and nothing out of the ordinary at all, I couldn't figure out what it was that creeped you out. I just re-read the series of posts, though, and realized you were talking about visiting, etc., with people I didn't "really" know, so now it makes more sense to me.

I'm not saying everybody should do that, but the friends I've made are comfortable for me. Anyone can s-t-r-e-t-c-h their comfort zone, and probably should once in awhile. They don't have to actually rupture it!! grin

tl

P.S. Unless you were talking about the Clam post, in which case I'm confused again. crazy

Do you know what AJ did today? We had to get the truck serviced this morning, and he sent me off to get a shower while he stayed with the truck - a huge sacrifice. (Don't worry, I thanked him.)

I don't mind my gray hairs so much, except for all the little short guys, 1-3" long, that stick up straight out of my beautiful long tresses. Those annoy me.

Finally finally finally I have been working on my articles on infidelity for a women's magazine. They should be ready to submit within a week, and I'll let you know if anything esciting happens.

I always drove down the road with my skirt hiked up comfortably, often one leg thrown up on the dash.

OK, I want to know how in the dickens you got your leg up on the dash? You were driving a PINTO, for Pete's sake. What are you, anyway? A pretzel? And which leg? If it was the right leg, how did you press on the accelerator? If it was the left, in that dinky car you'd almost have to drape it over the steering wheel to even GET to the dash. All I can say is that I saw no evidence of this remarkable agility when you were driving me!! frown

I no longer admit to having taught you to drive. blush What does Neaksis do that I don't know about? I know she's got my lead pedal, but I'll bet she doesn't drive with her foot on the dash! Or does she?

I shall show you when I get home. I can still drive that way, but for some reason AJ gets apoplectic when I do it around him. Pet peeve, or something.

Well, if the sink incidences are any indication, I'd say the method of driving is right on target.

Oh, and those little 1-3" greys, well, I do color my hair, and they stick up, color and all; they look like antannae. I could prolly pick up NBC without really tryin'. smirk

QUEENIE!

I knew I loved ya for a reason! Thought it was just your name because I had a very dear friend named Queenie.

My first car was a Pinto (Paco the Pinto, if you need to know names). I drove JUST the way you did!

Mine was a 77 two toned blue on blue hatchback - the kind where the hatch was the whole window that rose up. I can still hear the swoosh noise it would make when you'd pop it.

Twinkies?

I love all of Ford's "horse" cars....even the Maverick could haul bootay!

I never had to take the Kobayashi Maru test until now. What do you think of my solution?

Primly: I always kept both MY feet on the floor. I will admit that once a truck followed a friend and me off the freeway after we honked and waved to say "Hi" just before we took the off-ramp. In retrospect, I don't think they were expecting tea. shocked We sure high-tailed it out of there when we saw what them barrelling right behind us. I've never honked at a trucker since--and that's been almost 40 years--unless, of course, they were being excessively annoying, which does happen once in a great while.

And I never taught her to be creative with plumbing fixtures, either. blush blush blush

T&L, that was soooooo funny.
=================================
I once owned a Maverick.

I drive w/ my feet where the safety experts want them.

I've used the plumbing fixtures as exercise equipment.

I once named a car. Her name was Amanda. I read somewhere that it meant 'worthy to be loved' and she was my first car.

I finally had to tell AJ ... absolutely no more pulling over any more today, except for potty breaks. blush My log book was starting to look like a Jack-o-lantern.

"Yes, officer - they told me in truck school that 'nooky break' was a perfectly legitimate log entry."

Probably not till tomorrow morning. *pout* I get very whiny without my showers.

We are going to have to figure out how to pace ourselves, maritally speaking. We keep getting too busy for a few days in a row, then have to make up for lost time. But at least we had 5 or 6 hours snoozing together last night and the night before. Not tonight, though. It is a solitary bunk for me.

Which is probably why I'm still in the front seat propping my eyelids open instead of zzzzzz'ing.

OH MY!!!!!!! I just saw the most amazing thing - AJ says he sees it all the time. Let's just say those people shouldn't throw any stones at all. Their whole giant house on the hill is made of glasss. You can see the wooden framework, but other than that it is a straight view all the way through all the main parts of the house.

We know I am never going to live in one of THOSE!

CONTEXT!! CONTEXT!! CONTEXT!! I thought you published authors knew that. Here I'm reading along as you discuss "marital pacing" and then come to the above words, and I'm thinking to myself, "AIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! You have got to be kidding!" (not that you'd do it, but that you'd SAY it so casually right in front of everybody shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked )...and then I saw the next line which said "hours snoozing" and went "Whew!" crazy

Well, kids are all asleep. Time to follow their good example. I REALLY hate getting up so early in the morning. 40 years of night shift has done nothing to prepare me for getting little kids up and off to school at the crack of dawn! mad

Anyone use clip on hair extensions? One of the young ladies I work with had them today, and they were quite beautiful. They are made of real hair (best), or synthetic (not as good, but come in pink, blue, purple and green).

You just clip them on and you can't tell. She makes a little pigtail where it clips on so that it won't come loose.

5 or 6 ..... aghast!

Even for a lively woman such as myself, that is just a TAD excessive!!!

After yesterday's liberal spattering of cow doody and etc I am not such a glowing radiant road warrioress, but give me a few hours and I will reclaim my status.

In the meantime, we are picking up cookies, and the outlet store is right next door. I'll be back. I have a few things to attend to.

So AJ is driving down the road. He holds out his hand, and I put my hand in his. Bending slightly, but keeping his eyes on the road, he kisses my hand.

Awwwww, romantic moment.

Pause. His face wrinkles. "Ewwwww! Your hand smells like cow poop!"

Romantic moment over.

And my hand does not actually smell like cow poop. (In case you wondered.)
