I love it when my car is size:11pt]clean[/size]!
We (WH and I) had two cars, he bought the Subaru, I bought the sports car, so that WE could have the best of both worlds. Now we've each got HALF.

I debated between the BLACK and the RED PATENT LEATHER purses.. I chickened out and got the BLACK.. But I decided that I'm gonna take it back and get the RED one.. The salesgirl said the RED one suited me better.. She was right..I shoulda listened...

Oh, dear, the red definitely!!!
I got a red patent leather purse last year that I love. I switched to a green leather for the Spring, but will find use for the red throughout the summer. It's a beaut!
It doesn't take oodles of money to be stylish, just have to have an eye for the things that are not flashes in the pan; those classic pieces. You can get a lot of stylish stuff at your local mall or department store.

My mom always swore that I was adopted, because I was so unlike my siblings as a child, in demeanor, that is.
Seriously, though, my sister was a fashion maven when she was younger; she's allowed hard times to come her way as of late, and is not caring for herself as much these days. I hope she gets back to it. Her shoe collection alone was enough to envy.
It really wasn't until the last couple of years that I became interested in my own fashion. I had always been UP with the times, but didn't pay that much attention. NOW, I pay attention, because I think a great fitting, classic outfit CAN boost your spirit and confidence (not to mention the shoes and the purse to finish it off).
Oh, I was watching What Not to Wear the other night, I think it was a rerun, and Stacey mentioned having a great red pump in your wardrobe; that it was the BEST shoe to start with. I'm off to seek mine out. I have gold, and silver, and mauve, and black patent, but no red.
I bought a shift dress yesterday that hugs my body in all the right spots, and is a timeless style.
Yup, sisters are we Mimi.

I am nominating myself for a gold star.
x called me today. He was trying to get documents in order for our daughter go to Germany w/ group from school. So, he's at the health department and they were apparently having trouble finding her birth records.
He needed to confirm her date of birth so he asked if it was Nov 17, 2000. With quiet amusement, I told him it was 1990. He was only a decade, or is that a century, or is that a millenium off.

From my cousin re a funeral--packed quite a wallop to me!
I'm heading for bed. I am totally drained emotionally. I went to Jonathan Frazier's funeral today. Josh worked with him as a Paramedic at Memorial, and then at Life Guard. He threw a pulmonary embolism at home on Friday and died. He was 27, had been in the National Guard, East Ridge Fire Dept, and then a Paramedic. He has a wife and a toddler. This was truely the saddest funeral I have ever been at--even counting my parent's. I have to hand it to EMS. They went all out for him. The dedicated an ambulance to him and it was first in the procession and draped with black crepe. The brought in Paramedics from other cities to cover Chattanooga and all of Life Guard was there. There must have been 100 medics, East Ridge Firefighter, and some National Guardsmen. All of Life Guard had black material across their badges and every ambulance in the fleet has a black flag on it's antena. The funeral home didn't have any other service today, and there still wasn't enough room for everyone to sit. When we left to drive to Hixson for the grave side service, there were 4 or 5 ambulances in the lead with their lights flashing, More brought up the rear. The procession was probably 2 miles long. There were police cars and fire dept vehicles blocking the intersections and standing outside of the vehicles with their hands over their hearts, or saluting. Josh drove the #3 ambulance. When the lead EMS vehicles got to the cemetary, they parked in the turn lane and all of those riding in them got out and stood in a line for the rest of the funeral procession to pass by. Then they formed a line at the grave site for the coffin to be carried through the middle of them. Carmen and I drove together, so we stood just behind Josh until the casket and family passed by, then we stood on each side of him. There were men in Scotish kilts playing bagpipes and drums, and a bugeler to play taps. I counted 14 EMS vehicles from 4 different companies lining the road in front of the cemetary by the grave site. Of course they had the flag folding ceremony--very dignified. Erlanger sent our Helicopter to do a fly over and they were just barely above the tree tops and directly over the grave. Then the Life Guard Medics that had radios turned them up loud and did a radio check on the ambulances that were there, saving Jonathan's for last. They called his rig twice, and of course there was no answer. Then they said Paramedic Frazier, you are relieved of your duties and your job was well done. Rest in Peace. Josh was one of the ones with the Radios. Carmen and I were bawling through the whole service and my son, who was friends with Jonathan, stood there stone faced and dignified, strong as a rock. I was so proud of him. This D boy is tougher than any D girl, and I knew he was hurting. He indulged Carmen and I by letting us hold his hands and hang on either side of him when we got the chance, which probably made it harder for him to be tough. He did it though and he was awesome. The whole service lasted 3 and 1/2 hours. And through it all, I just kept thinking, thank God it's not my son. The funeral was beautiful and a wonderful tribute, but NOT for one of my children. I cannot imagine anything so terrible! My kids are my world and I love them so much. This just makes me even more aware of how very wonderful and precious they both are, and of how very, very proud I am of Heather and Josh. So, tonight, everyone of you hug your babies and tell them that you love them--and then do it again! I love you all!!!!

One thing is for sure, if I was spending this much money on a trip, I wouldn't be sending my 7 year old. I would be going!

If you made a list of the completed items on your to-do list, would that be your ta-da list?

Dr. Phil proclaims that, 'The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished.' So, I looked around my house to see all the things I've started and hadn't finished, and before the morning was over I finished off a bottle of White Zinfandel, a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos, and a box of chocolates. You have no idea how freaking good I feel right now.

Sounds like Rella has been to finishing school, hee hee.
Have lots of fun Mimi!
We're going through AZ on our way to the northeastern coast. I'll get to go in at least 2 states I have never been in. I'm trying to talk AJ into taking me to some historical places. Ok, actually lots of historical places.

I got this from a friend...
1: Martha Stewart says: Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of a sugar cone to prevent ice cream drips. Real women say: Just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for God’s sake, you're probably lying on the couch with your feet up eating it anyway.
2: Martha Stewart says: To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes. Real women say: Buy Hungry Jack mashed potato mix, keep it in the pantry for up to a year.
3: Martha Stewart says: When a cake recipe calls for flouring the tin, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake. Real women say: Go to the bakery. They'll even decorate it for you.
4: Martha Stewart says: If you accidentally over salt a dish while it's still cooking, drop in a peeled potato and it will absorb the excess salt for an instant "fix me up". Real women say: If you over salt a dish while you're cooking, that's tough. Please recite with me The Real Women's motto: I made it and you will eat it and I don't care how bad it tastes.
5: Martha Stewart says: Wrap celery in foil when putting in the fridge and it will keep for weeks. Real women say: Celery? Never heard of the stuff.
6: Martha Stewart says: Brush some beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a beautiful glossy finish. Real women say: The Mrs. Smith frozen pie directions do not include brushing egg whites over the crust and so I don't do it.
7: Martha Stewart says: If you have a problem opening jars: Try using rubber gloves. They give a non-slip grip that makes opening jars easy. Real women say: Go ask the very gorgeous neighbor to do it.
8: Martha Stewart says: Cure for headaches. Take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away. Real women say: Cure for headaches. Take a lime, cut it in half and drop it in a double vodka. Drink the vodka. You might still have the headache, but you won't care!
9: Martha Stewart says: When catering for an evening buffet, calculate food portions and timings a week in advance, so that you're not rushing on the night. Real women say: Nip into Safeways on the way home that evening, and buy everything in packets.
10: Martha Stewart says: When you have finished the preparation for your buffet, wash up and treat yourself to a glass of wine. Real women say: Hide the packets and drain the last of that "pre dinner" wine bottle...
11: Martha Stewart says: Don't throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces. Real women say: What left over wine???

That's a good one, WhyUs.
Well, our little secretary wore her F-me red pumps today again and the men were falling all over her. Maybe I'll get me some. Of course it probably helps being only 20.
