Afer my divorce I got involved with a man we were dating for two years. We meet each other kids and started to blend our families. We talked of marriage. We bought a house for our Furture. Our relationship fell apart. We put the house on the market after only owning it for 7 months. We dont see his kis as much they dont spend the night any longer we bought this big house for nothing. He has moved into the His sons Room since he dosent come over. I have tried to talk to him about renting out the house to we can move on. he wont absolulty NOT rent out the house. I feel like I am being held hostage for half of the mortage each months and half of the other expences. it is so unfare. Yes he put down 10 grand for a down payment but wht is he going to hold me hostage until he makes money on the house. I want to move now. and I cant or canI please give me advice. what should I do.

I am sorry, can't tell you what to do, that is something that you will need to decide for yourself.
What kind of legal obligation do you have to this house? Is your name on the mortgage? What legal papers did you have drawn up to protect yourself?
You talk about moving on, moving on how?
Give us some more info so that we may offer suggestions to you.

I want to move out into an apartment and start school at the ripe old age of 41 I am ready to move on and beging to pick up the pieces of my life

The housing market kind of sucks right now!
So that means that you might only have the option of changing your mind set. STOP allowing yourself to feel trapped.
How is this house arranged? Can you take over one floor and he another? How creative can you get?
You mention blending families, how old are the kids?
What if you were to let it go back to the bank?
I am just throwing things out there hoping to get you thinking!!!!

Foureclouseure is not a option for him. Renting is not a option for HIM
Leting me move out and renting the extra bed rooms is not a option for him
Him moving out and leting me rent out the bedrooms is not a option for him
selling the house is the only option for him
since his daugher has turned 18 we dont see her. and we donr see his Son over night he has other plans. My Daugher does live there. But I can affored to move into a nice 2 bedroom place for her and I if I did have to live in the monster house.

Seems to be alot of HIM.
Perhaps you need to read through the materials here at MB. There is all kinds of info on extablishing rules and guidelines.
Sounds like there are both some hurt and resentment on both your parts. That might need to be looked into.
Have you talked out the defination of your relationship at this time?
Lots for you to think about and do.

Are you living in the same household? Do you jointly own a house?
There is still a relationship there, not the one that you had with this man when you purchased the house with him, but one still the same. It needs to be defined, so that you can live in somewhat piece til this house is sold.
