Rose
I receive your prayers humbly, but most people on earth have it worse than I do today.
All blessings to you and yours

i know it is counter-productive and a sin to waste energy with this struggle to forgive, my head really gets that, but still it gets to me. i can break out in tears in a moments notice. i think about determination but all i feel is failure. FLT2H... Have you ever listened to anything by The Casting Crowns? Your above quote brought this song of theirs to mind...I think you'll enjoy it...It is one of mine and Mr. W's favorites-our dd8 too! Here's a youtube link as well~~~> The Voice of Truth by The Casting Crowns The Voice of Truth
Oh,what I would do to have the kind of faith it takes To climb out of this boat I'm in Onto the crashing waves To step out of my comfort zone Into the realm of the unknown Where Jesus is, And he's holding out his hand
But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed The giants they keep on telling me time and time again "Boy, you'll never win, you'll never win."
But the voice of truth tells me a different story the voice of truth says "do not be afraid!" and the voice of truth says "this is for my glory" Out of all the voices calling out to me I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth
Oh, what I would do to have the kind of strength it takes To stand before a giant with just a sling and a stone Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors shaking in their armor Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand
But the giant's calling out my name and he laughs at me Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed The giant keeps on telling me time and time again "Boy you'll never win, you'll never win."
But the voice of truth tells me a different story the voice of truth says "do not be afraid!" and the voice of truth says "this is for my glory" Out of all the voices calling out to me I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth
but the stone was just the right size to put the giant on the ground and the waves they don't seem so high from on top of them looking down i will soar with the wings of eagles when i stop and listen to the sound of Jesus singing over me
But the voice of truth tells me a different story The voice of truth says do not be afraid And the voice of truth says this is for my glory Out of all the voices calling out to me (calling out to me) I will choose to listen and believe (I will choose to listen and believe) I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth
I will listen and believe I will listen and believe the voice of truth I will listen and believe 'Cause Jesus you are the voice of truth And I will listen to you.. oh you are Mrs. W P.S. I know I'm not your favorite person around here, which is why I didn't jump in to share our story when I saw our names mentioned...I can tell you that our marriage is happier than it has ever been, certainly not because of the affair, but in spite of it...

Hi Mrs W. Thanks for the post and the song. Yes I have heard that song many times on k-love. No, I wouldn't say you are one of my most favorite posters, but then again, you are not my least favorite either. Not sure if you realize this but I was around when you both arrived and I watched your whole story unfold. And, honestly, regardless of my opinion of some of the things i have read by you and MrW. that I have not agreed with, I AM very happy that you and Mr W are happily married now. And I acknowledge the benefit of having you both here as an example for others. again, thanks for the song. FL

Hi again FLT2H,
Again, in 25 words or less? LOL. I see that you have received good answers to these questions from Bob (on the other thread in Recovery), and I love that song, Mrs. W!
These are a few things that have helped me forgive myself and achieve a relative amount of peace:
Reading a book by Beth Moore called, “When Godly People Do Ungodly Things.” Another book that helped me a lot right after d-day was “Daddy Loves His Girls,” by T.D. Jakes. (Not to grade my own post, but I can't figure out how to underline the titles, which would be correct. LOL)
Remembering King David’s life – Whoa, did he mess up a lot! He paid consequences for his sins, but he and Bathsheba were still allowed to be in the lineage of Christ.
(Also in the lineage of Christ were: 1. Tamar, who disguised herself as a prostitute and slept with Judah, and 2. Rahab, who was a prostitute. Even Christ's own family members messed up, but they were still used by God.)
Reading that Christ hung out with sinners. Matthew 9:11,12
Believing that “He has taken our sins away from us as far as the east is from the west.” Psalm 103:12
However, I will admit that I can actually sometimes begin to feel suicidal if I dwell on the past, so I make an effort not to dwell on it!
The apostle Paul had persecuted Christians before he became a Christian, and he wrote, “...(T)here is one thing I always do. Forgetting the past and straining toward what is ahead, I keep trying to reach the goal and get the prize for which God called me...” (from Philippians 3: 12 – 14, New Century Version)
At some point in the past 5 years, I also read a book of quotes by Abraham Lincoln (who they say had bouts of severe depression). He said, “I have found that when one is embarrassed, usually the shortest way to get through it is to quit talking about it or thinking about it, and go at something else.” What we feel is a lot more complicated than just embarrassment (although there is that, too), but I remember this quote when I need to stop beating myself up. Sometimes I just have to shake it off and concentrate on the present tasks at hand.
God bless,
Rose
