Welcome to MarriageBuilders, jcrb!
Have you read the articles on this website, beginning with The Basic Concepts? Links are to the right of your screen in red and above.
Perimenopause, eh? Are you saying you attribute her saying she wants to be separated in two years solely to physical changes?
Have you considered she may be having an affair?
How well have you been meeting her ENs (emotional needs) and not love busting (LBs) do you think?
How long have you been married?

Often the real cause is an affair, but since you have thoroughly checked out that possibility, I'll go with that.
So how exactly would the separation in two years work? You would stay happily married as husband and wife and plan for it? Kind of like others plan for retirement?

Why don't you start some plans to build your marriage? Maybe do some couple's counseling.
Reducing your love busting, making lots of deposits in her love bank and meeting her emotional needs could really work some miracles.
