Just got an e-mail that the company wants us to give pictures of our families for the bulliten board.
You know, husbands, wives, kids and pets.
I'm afraid all I have is my pet.
That really hit home and made me realize just how abandoned I really am.
I love my pet, don't get me wrong, but I feel, well I can't describe it.
I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.

New job, new start.
Some of your posts lead me to wonder about depression, Pariah.
Count your blessings. Look for silver linings.
Post a picture of your pet, perhaps people will learn that you are single and this could start a discussion or an introduction.
It reminds me of the Singles Ad that goes something like: Wanted woman with boat, send photo of boat.
Having a pet is an attractive trait.
Work on the positives in your life and your blessings. You keep saying what a great job this is, don't let something like this drag that feeling (or you) down.

Send a pic of you and the dog, just try not to look tooo cozy together
J/J
I see this as an oppertunity to post a pic that shows how much fun you are and how secure you are with your current status in life.
If it's not the case, do it anyway.
Is this merely a trigger or do you still struggle in recovery?
Just wondering, I'm not familiar with your story, but our timelines are similar. I feel good these days, no major triggers or anything. If I can help you get there I'll do what I can.
Just figured I'd check out the Big D crowd now that I'm in it.
Is there an initiation ceremony or orientation package?

BC, I thought everyone celebrated (the D) with some alcohol. Not so much for the end of the marriage, but more the end of one stage of the BS and paperwork.
Good Luck.

My pet is a cockatoo, people really don't know how to react to such an exotic pet. She loves to be petted, snuggled and scratched just like any other pet. She merely has feathers, claws and a really big beak.
Everyone at work knows me. There is a picture of me holding a red tailed hawk over my desk.
Everyone seems to like me. The owner says the morale in my department I'm over has never been higher.
He lets me fly the airplane when he takes me out to lunch.
I just want to have my family that was riped away from me so wrongfully, while the OM still has his with zero consequences.
I wouldn't take that toxic harpy back n a bet, but I miss my SS.
She let it be known to my attorney if I ever try to contact him that I will be charged with stalking, so I will accept being the bad guy until he gets old enough to try and find me on his own. I raised him for 13 years, but his mother told him that I abandoned them.
I will bide my time and wait for him.
I will continue to be successful.

Pariah, congrats on the good morale in your department.
You know, I'd just go to HR and say because of recent changes in your family, you do not feel comfortable posting a picture right now. End of discussion.
Or, dress up like Indiana Jones and pose with the bird.
From what I hear about parrots, it's like having a 2-year old around forever--time-consuming, attention demanding, amusing, amazing and a joy.
Any man who can deal with that gets kudos.

Ha, I was just going to suggest you dress up in a pirate costume with your bird, or something else funny. Great way to get word around that you need a partner! Conversation starter and shows you (hopefully) have a sense of humor.

Everyone except one person likes me here and he found out really quick that I will sting if messed with. He's gotten stung repeatedly. At this point, he is required to knock before entering my department and must refer to me as "sir". However I am watching him self-destruct as his wife is exhibiting all of the symptoms of an affair. He is starting on the downward spiral and it's kinda like watching an auto accident in slow motion and he is doing everything wrong to stop it. Most people know I have Roxy, my cockatoo as I have a decal of her on the back window of my truck.

Better a picture of you and your parrot - happy together - than a picture of a bunch of people with fake smiles.

Why not reach out to him about his situation, and see if he would be willing to hear some advice from someone who has been there and done that..may change the dynamics of the work relationship and how he views you.

Pariah,
Why not reach out to him about his situation, and see if he would be willing to hear some advice from someone who has been there and done that..may change the dynamics of the work relationship and how he views you. Because my moral compass is seriously damaged and for some reason I am enjoying his trip down into the cesspool. He has tried to have me fired because I'm not a barking moonbat liberal. His marriage is failing because he goes surfing down in Costa Rica and comes back bragging about having sex with prostitutes. Anyways, I put up a picture of me with the Red Tailed Hawk and a pic of me and Roxy, my cockatoo. The Vietnamese won't give pictures because of some superstition of losing their jobs if they put the picture up. Some sort of karma thing I don't understand.

Pariah, I have something I want to say to you. I am not saying this because I am pointing my finger at you. I am not saying this because I am in denial about the fact that I have issues. I am saying it because I know you are here to deal with the aftermath of a life changing event and it has been hard on you. But, you have some issues and it shows. When you deal with your issues and heal more, you will find yourself in a better emotional place. However, you, friend, have some issues. (I know, I know.....I'm a fine one to talk..... )

If you call watching justice being served issues, then so be it.
This is a man, when I was going through the worst time in my life, took extreme pleasure in heaping even more problems on top of it all for his own displaced aggression. He openly taunted me about my divorce and near fatal injury, then on top of that tries to have me fired. I have zero sympathy for him.
I call it poetic justice.
However, I haven't said a word about it to him. I will not lower myself to his level, besides from the symptoms I see, his marriage is in it's death throes. I'm not about to stick my nose in that hornet's nest. However I have suggested what he might be able to do to others in hopes some sense might reach him.

I don't find anything wrong with your moral compass. It looks like karma has taken a hold of your workmate.
Once in a while something will come up to remind me that I once had family unit. I sometimes miss the things we did together. But it's all gone and I can't go back. We have to hold our heads high and persevere. We have standards after all.
