just wondering from experience how long do affairs usaually last? and the percent that do last?

well, you can read my "utterly shocked" thread...
my exes affair just ended this week. 3.5 years later.
I don't have any percentages on LTA's.
I think it depends on the situation.
I will be honest and say my father married his LTA and they have been married almost 20 years now.
It's the reality sometimes.
But, then again, I thought my ex and his LTA partner would last and SURPRISE! it did not.

I know of at least three "relationships" that began as affairs that are going on 10+ years.

Jerry, Dr. H's stats might show that...but what I see in real life is not consistent with that number. Admittedly, Dr. H has a much larger sample from those that actually sought out his services. Whether that is representative of society at large, I do not know.
My own mother had an affair that spanned decades...I would probably know if it was still going on if I spoke to her...I don't.

My sister's FIL is married to his AP. They are going toward 20+ years....he may have found his "happiness", but his children suffered GREATLY for it......
