I mean, Shania Twain's husband can't keep his fly zipped? They have a seven year old boy child. *sigh*

Sad...I hope she'll be okay. Funny how he said they "grew apart" can that really happen if you've been married for a while?
I mean if you grew apart then why not find what you should do to come closer together...

Consider what all of us here have been through here. Then think of our trauma and heart ache on the cover of Us Weekly, The Sun, OK Magazine or People. She will have very little privacy to have her crying jags, anxiety attacks or meltdowns. As this story heats up and the lawyers get involved it will get ugly.
I feel so sorry for her and her son.

LASG that is very true. It must be awful to have people reading your tragedy like it is entertainment. I only had that in a tiny way in our sit but it is hurtful. It also occurs to me that exposure will not work as a tool in this case either.

Does anyone know if they got together when they were single or if it's an affair marriage? I must admit the age difference makes me suspicious......

No, neither were married when they met.
This was her first marriage, and I'm pretty sure it was his as well.
She has expressed her hatred for affairs before.

BK, I believe they were single, but I'd have to check out the "MUTT's" past to accurately refresh my memory.

Twain's estranged husband, Robert "Mutt" Lange, told People the split was "an unfortunate thing." He added, "It's literally just a growing apart, that's all."
But sources close to the situation told People that Marie Ann Thiébaud, a longtime secretary and manager of the couple’s chateau in Switzerland, was at the center of the break-up.
"Mutt and Marie Ann left their spouses for each other and are still in a relationship," one source told People.
Lange denied the claims to the magazine.
"It's absolutely not the reason [for the separation]," the famously reclusive producer told People when asked about the alleged affair. He also denied that he was in a romantic relationship with Thiébaud: "I'm not, no," he said. "It's not true."
Twain, 42, and Lange, 59, married in 1993. They have a 6-year-old son, Eja (pronounced "Asia") D'Angelo.
An insider told People that Twain is "devastated. This came out of left field ... She loved him." Somebody must have given Mutt the "Wayward Spouse Course 101 Textbook" and he's quoting it verbatum. He's such a Mutt, a mongrel in rut no doubt. As was mentioned earlier, it would be nice if Shania signed up here anonymously for some emotional and practical support for HER, without having to be "Shania," just another Betrayed Spouse. There are 3 female Country singers I "adore," and Shania is one of them. Shania basically gave it all up for her marriage. Marriage VOWS? Suffice it to say that they are considered "relative" to all active and potential Wayward Spouses.

He was previously married in the 70's and divorced in the 70's.
She was single.
My bet...he's a romance junkie. He courted Shania on the phone for a few months...met her in person and married her in about 6 months.
I saw a picture of the OW on one website as she was in the background of a shot of Shania and her son. Apparently, she was travelling with the family. How nice.
Mutt is a VERY private person...he's gonna HATE all this attention. He certainly didn't anticipate anyone would care...but they do and will. I hope they stick camera's in every oriface of his body.

I am so surprised. They seemed to have had the storybook life, complete with castle in Switzerland.
Not liking country too much, I loved Shania and her story. That she used to work not too far from me (on the other side of the border) at Mcdonalds, but never earned "employee of the month" like her sister did. That she used to work summers at a logging camp, and cooked banshee's (indian flat bread) on a camp fire for the staff. That she grew up riding snowmobiles.
It's too bad. She seems to come from a strong, down to earth family. I hope they are all rallying around her now, giving her support and comfort.
Man, you'd think by the time a person gets in their fifties they'd have gained enough wisdom to put their family first and protect their love for their spouse at all costs. People don't always get better as they get older, sometimes they get worse. Stupid people.

Infidelity is rampant enough in normal society...I can't believe anyone in the entertainment industry thinks their spouse will remain faithful.
Anyone even remotely involved in acting, sports, music, or modeling should either assume their marriage is open no matter what their spouse says, or stay single.

Didn't Brad and Angie claim the same thing? Then a few months later BINGO they are together. Then there was Tom Cruise and Penelope Cruise. They worked on a movie together and there were rummors. He dumps Nicole, denies the claims and a couple of months later they are a couple. Seriously it is just like they read the script. Start a secret affair, deny it, break your spouses heart, wait a couple of months and then go public.

It makes me want to barf every time I see Brad and Angelina held up as heroes. BTW, for all the BS out there who think maybe their spouse would not have cheated on them, if only they had been more phsycially attractive. Well this is a prime example of that fallacy. Think of how many men have drooled over Shania as the perfect woman, and yet her husband cannot be content with her. Very sad.

Yeah, those two idiots (Brad and Angie ) can adopt all the kids they want...it's easy with millions in the bank and a paid staff to help with them. They are nothing more than two scumbag cheaters in my eyes, even if they adopt a million kids.

Everytime I hear about a spouse being broadsided by their WS in the limelight, I think about Lance Armstrong and his dirty laundry. His wife has been very open about how she persevered. I, for one, have a lot of respect for her. Lance just keeps hoppin from woman to woman now. What a putz
