You were in my THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS today. I remember how hard it was for me on that first Father's Day after my father passed away.

I made it happen..a joyful life..filled with peace, contentment, happiness and fabulocity.

Thanks Mimi. It was hard. In time since he has died I've been planning how to pass on the goodness and ideals he modeled for me.

But I DID keep occupied here on MB and helping my son's girlfriend move.

Thanks for thinking of me.

I thought of you, too, today, 'cause I did lots of COOKING. I was in the mood to cook. I really like to cook but it's just my H and I. We can't eat it all and I don't like to have a lot of people over..SO THERE...IT WAS FUN, THOUGH!! Ribs, yellow squash, macaroni and cheese and corn casserole...YUM...I'm turning into my GRANDMOTHERS by the minute..but, of course, NO GRANDCHILDREN..which remember I'm sending them over to your house when and if they do come along...

Oh, Mimi, you will LOVE have grandchildren. Just think of little ones running around that you can SEND HOME when you are worn out.

Hi Believer and Mimi smile

I don't know if you remember me from a long time ago. I still come back at times and read around the boards although I still hardly ever post.....some things never change, huh? grin

Believer, I thought of you yesterday too....as I'm sure did many others. Hugs.

Mimi, have you ever considered taking your love of cooking for people while, at the same time, not wanting them in your house....and doing something with that?

Off the top of my head, I'm thinking along the lines of cooking a meal 1 or 2 times a month for a family who could use a little stress relief and a good meal or for "singles" like senior citizens and disabled people.....and either dropping it off in carryout containers or having it picked up. You could get the "main" ingredients from the people you were cooking for so that the meal stayed within their budget (and yours) and was something they liked.

Or....how about going through your church? You could volunteer to cook with food out of the church pantry and someone could pick up the meal from the church. Most churches know which are their families in need.

That's just a couple ideas that probably have a lot of holes in them, but you might be able to come up with something that works out for everyone. Your joy in cooking could benefit others in a way that doesn't take the joy out of it for you.

Take care and have a good week Believer and Mimi. smile

Thanks for the ideas, Loving Boundaries.

I've been trying to think of whom I could share my leftovers with..

Will definitely think further on this...
