Cell phone snooping:
1. Check incoming calls, text messages and contacts list.
2. Check the contact list.
3. If phone rings a couple of times followed by an anonymous call, it could be OP calling.
4. Check for a second sim chip and pre-pay account. If possible see if phone bills for second chip are being sent somewhere else.
5. Look for unusual "code words" repeated in text messages. Sometimes they use a code word to make sure the OP knows it's them.
6. Watch for WS who treats his/her cellphone like a wallet, always on them. Even if it's a work phone.
7. Check for business type texts, especially during work time and especially if business type texts aren't the norm.

Good list !
I wonder how people managed to have affairs before there were mobile phones ? They seem to be pretty central to everything about now.

I would like to throw my W's phone into the river !!!!!!!!!
If it weren't for the fact she uses it to text me and send me pics to tell me where she is and what she's doing I would.

I threw my husband's in the toilet on DD. I think I was going to do that with my wedding ring, if I remember correctly. WW wouldn't give it to me, because she knew I would. So she waited until we were outside....I threw it as far as I could....it's gone.

One thing that I did with my husband's NEW cellphone once when we were arguing while he was checking his VM... is that I accused him of sending a text message (when I knew he was actually entering his VM passcode). I challenged him to let me see it. He wouldn't actually let me hold it (wonder why?) but held it up for me to see that he wasn't in the texting screen. What he didn't realize is that his passcode was showing and I was able to get it. I quickly told him, ok, ok, I believe you.
Later, I used that passcode to check his VM and THEN I set his VM to automatically forward to MY phone. He didn't figure that one out for a week. People kept asking him, "didn't you get my message?" "Uh, no. I'm gonna call the cell phone company and have them check my phone!" LOL

PM....you are clever!! I set his VM to automatically forward to MY phone Thanks for sharing the list. I have to admit I was stunned. There were some things on there that I hadn't thought of.

Check out the pre-planning. The calculation. The almost obsessive-compulsive attention to detail in order to avoid getting caught.
Where's that mysterious fog? The addiction? The almost out-of control behavior?
It looks like they know EXACTLY what they are doing.
They certainly don't just "fall into" or "end up" in an A.
They WORK at it.

They WORK at it. Gotta wonder where my W's work was before the A. Certainly didn't put as much into the M as the A. All of the lying, secrets, hiding, manipulation...and, all she had to do was sit down and talk to me about the M...pretty simple.

They WORK at it. exactly...premeditated acts! I would suggest that this info should be removed from MB. I do not think that we need to give a WS that might be reading here some tips on how to avoid detection.

They WORK at it. I agree. This doesen't seem like fog or addiction, this seems like someone who actually wants to have an affair with a married man. Of course there is a very good reason to not have an affair: It is wrong. But I have to say that I don't understand why on earth someone wants to have an affair with a married man or woman. Just to know that he or she goes home to his/her spouse and plays family. Yuck!

Is there ANY way to see text messages that have been sent? My H deletes EVERYTHING he does when he does it...he always has. I want to be able to verify that he isn't talking with OW.

HTM,
I asked this question of my cell phone provider and they said that once the texts are deleted, they are GONE. Maybe another company can do it. Call your provider.
There was a poster who found she could get the deleted texts by hooking her phone up to her computer. I will try and find that thread for you.
Have you asked your H NOT to delete anything from his phone till YOU see it?
On D-day, I told my H that if he ever used his cell phone again, I would put it under the wheels of the car and destroy it. Now, a year later, I am trying to be comfortable with him using it, but it scares me silly. I am vigilant about checking it, even now.
sigh.

Maybe just change the title or reword on what to check for instead of the way the wayward has stated it which is full of negative toxic energy. I don't think it should be removed. This is valuable information for a BS, has some great tips to look for.

They WORK at it. Except these tips came from OW, not WHs. Some OW are vultures who seek out married men (can't they handle an honest relationship?). From what I've read, once they snag 'em, they're careful to avoid a "D-Day" or "exposure" at all cost, cause they know that's usually the beginning of the end.
