Stay away from Neaksis - at least till.....4 days after her symptoms disappear.....if you take her some chicken soup, put it on the porch, ring the doorbell, and run for your life.

Those were some of his lines from the play, as he was escaping from the "creaking dungeons of the Giant Despair". Even in his sleep, he can't get away from practicing his script.

Uh Dervish......it's OVER.

Mrs vdK would say that sleep talking was dedication to his art!!! lol

A budding actor methinks!!! Can't you just see him Neak ...on the stage ... dressed in gleaming armour ... waving a shiny sword ... standing tall ...

To be, or not to be, that is the Question:
Whether 'tis Nobler in the minde to suffer
The Slings and Arrowes of outragious Fortune,
Or to take Armes against a Sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them..........

And then loud shouts of "Encore encore" Oops sorry that was Neak and I .... lol blush blush blush

Mrs vdK is feeling down right now as Mr vdK was being as [censored] on the phone. Oblivious to her worry. SIGH ... soldiers break your heart ... nature of the beast.

"What days have come to keep us far apart
A broken promise or a broken heart"

That's a beautiful song Mrs vdK sings. Lots of meaning for us waiting women.

This is a wonderful oldie she sang not long ago at the Oxfam Concert

The long and winding road
That leads to your door
Will never disappear
I've seen this road before
It always leads me here
Lead me to you door

The wild and windy night
That the rain washed away
Has left a pool of tears
Crying for the day
Why leave me waiting here
Let me know the way

Many times I've been alone
And many times I've cried
Any way you'll never know
The many ways I've tried

But still they lead me back
To the long winding road
You left me standing here
A long long time ago
Don't leave me waiting here
Lead me to your door

But still they lead me back
To that long winding road
You left me standing here
A long long time ago
Don't keep me waiting here
Lead me to your door

Its just that some days .. the days are long .... the distance seems insurmountable and we want them home. Most days you just get on with it though. crazy

But reading about the Dervish cannot be help bring a fond and happy smile to our faces. Its because all the kids are just so full of life ..... even if a certain someone sometimes wishes they run low on batteries lol = neak lol laugh

All I can say is watch out Kenneth Branagh in a few years !!!
Go Dervish go !!!!

"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile,
This day shall gentle his condition:
And gentlemen in England now a-bed
Shall think themselves accursed they were not here,
And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks
That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day."

One day "creaking dungeons" .. the next " Henry V" !! ...Lots of swords in that one !!! grin
whistle whistle whistle whistle whistle

Oh, look, the hapless official at the FEDERAL BEAUREA OF INVESTGIGATIONS who sent me this email this morning, not only can't spell, but as the letter shows, doesn't know how to write correct English grammar, either. Isn't it nice that they were able to find employment with the US government anyway? Ain't American GRAND?! And then, at the end, they so kindly warned me to watch out for fraudulent attempts to get my money! grin

The FBI today is providing a warning to the public against an ongoing scheme involving jury service and internet/phones fraud. The public needs to be aware that individuals identifying themselves as U.S. court employees have been telephonically contacting citizens and advising them that they have been selected for jury duty. These individuals ask to verify names and Social Security numbers then ask for credit card numbers. If the request is refused, citizens are then threatened with fines illegally. The judicial system does not contact people telephonically and ask for personal information such as your Social Security number, date of birth or credit card numbers. If you receive one of these phone calls, do not provide any personal
or confidential information to these individuals. This is an attempt to steal or to use your identity by obtaining your name, Social Security number and potentially to apply for credit or credit cards or other loans in your name. It is an attempt to defraud you. Crime and fraud is real, so be careful.

Working closely with our partners in intelligence, law enforcement, military, and diplomatic circles, the FBI’s primary responsibility is to neutralize terrorist cells and operatives here in the United States and help dismantle terrorist networks/money laundry and internet fraud worldwide. Although protecting the United States from terrorist attacks and money laundry is our first priority, we remain committed to the defense of America against foreign intelligence threats as well as the enforcement of federal criminal laws, all while respecting and defending the Constitution.

If you’ve ever watched one of those crime dramas on TV and heard the term “NCIC” mentioned in passing and wondered what it was, you’re probably not alone. NCIC, which stands for National Crime Information Center, is one of the unsung heroes of crime-fighting—little known to the public, but used every
day by law enforcement officers nationwide and even across the border to take terrorists and criminals off the street, find missing persons and property, and save lives.

We’re very proud of NCIC’s legacy, but what’s most important to us is what it can do today,” says Bush. “We’re constantly trying to make it better and faster.” And we have, with a major technical upgrade in 1999 and important additions of terrorism and gang information in recent years.

Some people's kids!

(Also, I'm surprised it wasn't MOM mumbling lines from the play in her sleep.)

AW, loved the poem, and you could be right in your not-so-wild speculations about a certain Dervish.

mums asleep on the chair right now, waiting for her men to send SOMETHING.
There are times they make me angry. Sods.

Anyway if I go on any about my particular jerk I will use words Nana used to wash my mouth out with soap for, I mean she really did!. So I will be quiet until I'm not angry. About 2011 will be about right. grin

I want to see the Dervish in a stage show too!!! Even a movie . Can't you see him in a remake of Gone with the Wind - "Frankly my dear I don't give a Hershey bar!!!" Slams the door and strides off into the sunset . Just so devilishly handsome, in a nice way of course.

You will need to watch all the girls though. All their hearts will be a flutter.

I was just working out how old I would be by then - oh its alright, I'm sure he'll be taken up as a teen idol for Disney so I can boast to any kids 'I KNOW HIS MUM" !!!

Humming a song -
One love
One life
You got to do what you should

One life
With each other
Sisters
Brothers

One life
But were not the same
We get to carry each other
Carry each other

Carry each other

Carry each other

it's wake mum up time and sleep for me, I have tomorrow off woohoo

Sleep in

When mine were little, if they wore me out, I would declare it time for a movie nap. I'd tell them to stay in the den or kitchen - full of toys - and I would put on one of their favorite movies. We would sit on the couch and watch the movie together....though sometimes they outlasted me. As long as there were enough toys, we were good.

{{{{{Mrs. vdK}}}}}, welcome to married life. Men! Can't live with 'em........

Oh, was there more to that? My bad! grin

I'll let you know when the DVD of the play is complete. It may even be posted on the church's website, for even greater convenience.

AW, you are eerily right in your percentages. Apparently the similarities transcend cultures and several oceans.

Rella, I got a movie nap today. It turned out to be a good thing, since on the way back from the lake, walking, the Dervish had a major major meltdown. It was after 10pm before we made it back to Neaksis' house. (She had an interesting walk of her own, but that is a whole nuther story.)

I hope it goes without saying that I won the 2 hr + battle of wills. He is almost asleep now and fairly docile, but we'll have to see how tomorrow goes.

Oh, Mom, I looked up fibroid tx, and they have a few newer ones that are less invasive, but most common is hysterectomy or myomectomy. (In case I had not said yet, -it's been really busy and I can't remember-, I had a pelvic sono last week to rule out fibroids and endometriosis. From the 5-sec convo Mom had with the Doc, it sounded as if fibroids might have been ruled in, but we'll know more Monday.) But 6 weeks laid up with a surgery would mean I couldn't have done tomatoes anyway, and would probably be just enough time to finish my book. And unless there were major differences in risk/result, I would go with hyster instead of myo. Why would I have them pull the stupid thing out, then put it BACK IN???????? And why - so I can have MORE Dervishes??? I don't THINK so!!!!!!!!!!

Ahhhhhh, it is so peaceful and quiet. I should fix a nice hot drink and put my feet up for a few nanoseconds of rest before I fall asl

Too late ... Neaks gone nighty night cool

You know its like I am so looking forward to the battle of wills stage ...... not ....I wonder how much boarding school is ... for me not him laugh

fibroids .. my fingers are crossed for you ... (I'm pretending I'm immune)
but Mrs vdK says you could also have Arterial embolisation, Hysteroscopy or Laparoscopy done ... she had to spell those out to me lol ... instead of open surgery or a Hysterectomy.

However Mrs vdK is in the not broken don't fix camp ... which I am sure will change after her fist baby laugh ... you know when she grabs Jonnie around the throat and yells 'give me drugs' lol

It is broken, though, which is why I even had it checked. For 3 years I've had such heavy menses that anemia has been a frequent 'guest'. For a while I was successful in controlling the problem with either large doses of cayenne or caffeine, and held anemia at bay for a number of months, but this last time was so bad that both together made no appreciable difference. (Which is why I finally gave up and went in for a checkup.)

The newer methods Mrs. vdK spoke of may end up being options and are less invasive, we'll have to see what the dr. says. But there's no denying that the thought of a hysterectomy has a certain charm. No offense, Dervish.

Hey Neak....BTDT with the fibroids/hysterectomy.

It was right after dday, went to the doctor, told I had a mass the size of a volleyball, lump in left breast, something suspicious elsewhere....scared the holy living crap out of me. I was an emotional wreck. Hated my H, needed him so badly, YUK!

I went to another doc who ended up doing the surgery, and he told me immediately I didn't have cancer...(had nurse tell me as soon as I walked into the waiting room)...did all the necessary stuff, recommended surgery and then tells me,"you are a lucky girl". I said, "I don't feel lucky, I just found out I am having a hysterectomy".
He then said,"when I first heard of your case I thought I was gonna be telling you that you have stage 4 cervical cancer and that you better go on vacation and enjoy yourself because this won't take long".

So, I did my research. Not a lot of options and I just wanted "the alien" out! (My kids named it that). I'm glad it was done. Oh, and it turned out to be only as big as a honeydew. grin (I have pictures of it since they wouldn't let me keep it.)

Definately a few benefits! I left what was not broken, so will still go through some of the other stuff as I age...better than the risks involved with HRT for me. What if they never got your hormones right? Ya can't fix it once they take it all out. On the other hand, HRT might just make it all better right away. But ya get an increased risk of breast cancer with some of the HRT stuff too. With a lump already, I didn't want to go there.

Lots to think about and it was scary for me. I hope all goes well with your tests and appointments!!

I am six years past it and don't regret it.

P.S. My friend had the hysterectomy shortly after me, but had a few holes in the abdomen and viola! Shorter recovery of course. I have a 6 inch vertical zipper to show for mine. Oh, and I had to have the surgery out of town in a bigger hospital in case the doc needed blood, I was closer to the supply.

Cinders....
I have thought about that if I ever have to go back under the knife!
I didn't think of it the first time around...and we didn't have insurance for any of it, so extras were not really appropriate. Honestly, I just didn't think of it. So much was happening, and it all went so quickly (less than one month from first appt. to surgery on top of Dday...ugh). Glad it is all over.

But I kept some parts, and if they have to go, I will check out the tuck for sure.

A certain young Princess had her eyes opened yesterday. She timorously asked if, when I got pregnant with Dillon, if Daddy and I had had sex to get him. Why, yes, Princess, we did. (Puzzled.) But do you ever have sex when you DON'T want a baby? Yes, Princess, we do. YOU DO???????????

She is planning to only have sex when she is married, of course, and only when she wants to have children. It's an interesting plan, and I guess we'll see how it works out for her.

Time to go wake up the kids. BobP's cool bath idea knocked em out last night. I'm going to try it again tonight and make sure it wasn't a fluke. grin

I remember having such a discussion with my mother..

I was kinda nerdish. I would read encyclopedias for fun...LONG STORY..

But when my mother HONESTLY answered my questions, I remember saying to myself..NO WAY..I'll NEVER do that stuff..I guess I'll never have babies...

And look at me now... blush

I made it happen..a joyful life..filled with peace, contentment, happiness and fabulocity.
