I just realized today that the man she is running away from no longer exists, and the woman I'm trying to hold on to no longer exists. It's quite comforting, however hard to swallow.

Welcome to my world. It's not a bad place. Sometimes I miss the old days but really I have it much better now. My former H doesn't exist - perhaps he never did outside of my own imagination. It is both comforting and sad. What I still have difficulty with from time to time is memories of my DS's childhood which are full of my non-existent former H. WstbxH already forgot his birthday this year. Funny, he didn't forget OW's DD's b'day. He's not the same man and I think when I can address them as 2 different people in my mind, I'll be able to think fondly on those memories again. I don't know though - that's my latest mental project to work on. Good luck to you - if you have any tips I'd love to hear them.
