I'm writing up a narrative for my work case, and can't figure out or remember how to insert hyperlinks. I have the documents done and want to insert scanned documents that I have saved in My Documents.
In other words, if someone is reading, and they click on the hyperlink, then they can read another document that has background information, or more extensive information. If they are not interested in that particular part, they can just read on.
I'm trying to summarize and make it concise and at the same time give very detailed information.
I googled it and STILL can't figure it out.
Thanks for anyone who knows how to do it.

Hi- Is the more detailed information that you want to hyperlink, on the internet or is it in the form of a Word or that type of document?

The reason I ask...if it is a Word Doc. you are using to refer to in the middle of your text, the only way I know is to attach the link. There should be a paperclip at the top of your document (if not you will have to look under tools); once you click the 'paperclip' or 'attach document' then a screen will pop up for you to find it whether it be under "MY DOCUMENTS" or whatever. I am not sure that helps, directions may not be so clear...

Right, that is how you attach documents, but I want the documents to show up in the body of the word document.
For instance -
The company is called "BESTBUY" blah, blah, blah.
I want to be able for someone to click on BESTBUY and have other documents with more detail there.

Put your cursor at the end of the word BESTBUY then right click. Go to "hyperlink" in the menu which shows up, then attach the docs. The docs will have to be available to the people who are clicking on the link (IYKNWIM )

Put your cursor at the end of the word BESTBUY then right click. Go to "hyperlink" in the menu which shows up, then attach the docs. The docs will have to be available to the people who are clicking on the link (IYKNWIM ) That means that, if you are linking to another word document, the person opening the original (with the link in it) will have to have access to that linked document. If it is on your hard drive, there's no way for that link to work, as no one else will have access to your hard drive. You need to have an all-access location (folder) for the document and the linked documents. If both of you are on a shared server, just put the folder on that server, and THEN create the hyperlink.

Thanks all. So now I know that I can't do it. I don't have access to the share drive anymore. But it is good to know so I won't waste anymore time on THAT one.
