Alot of people I am too young to be married. But, look at it this way. There are children in other countries and ours too that are married at 8 years old to some sick 40 year old pervertand are molested everyday. SO I am only 18 and my wife is 21. You call that too young???? Take a look around at life. Nothing can stop love. God has given us this wonderful gift to use no matter how young we are as long as it isnt abused.

Thats not a very mature outlook, Brad. Your feelings do not mean you are mature enough to be married. Heck, 12 year olds have "feelings" of love. Marrying based on feelings is a sign of immaturity, which is why the divorce rate in your age group is astronomical.

Here's an excellent way to see if your love is real. Both of you go on your separate paths toward developing your career - whatever that may be. It may be 4 years of college, it may be 2 years of technical school, it may be apprenticing to learn a trade...take the next X number of years to get your future settled so that you can enjoy the rest of your life, the next 50-60 years, in security and prosperity.

During that time of preparation, continue to see each other, but concentrate on your studies. If, at the end of your various preparations, you're still in love, you've got a great chance. If either of you finds it 'too hard' to maintain your love for the other during this time, it wasn't really love in the first place, but lust or any other of a number of immature feelings.

'If he/she loves you, he/she will wait, and will be there waiting for you.'

It's that simple. Can you do it? Or is it all about sex?

Try to be rational. There is a reason that older people always discourage early marriage: they've seen so many of them fail.

It is almost always disasterous. You have nothing to lose by waiting even just a few more months. You have everything to lose by getting in a bad marriage, especially one with kids.

I am 26. I think I have changed my personality and desires nearly every year since I was 16. Thinking back at the girls I liked back then, I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO glad I did not get serious with ANY of them.
