With all due respect, Mr. W., Jimmy Carter couldn't negotiate his way through a case of Billy beer, let alone with any other country. Carter negotiated the Camp David Accords. He won the Nobel Peace Prize for his continued work in resolving world conflicts. I am not crazy about Carter or the Camp David Accords, but I believe his ability to negotiate is better than most. I don't see Dubya getting a Nobel Peace Prize. AGG I actually like Jimmy Carter....he has done a lot of good in the world...but the man was not cut out to be president....I can't begin to imagine how he would have handled something like 9/11. I do not want a president in today's world to be considered for the Nobel Peace Prize. I want a man of intelligence with an attitude that refuses to give into the horrors of this world. GWB is not my favorite by any stretch. Actually, absent his abortion stance, I am probably closer to Clinton than GWB. But I temper my criticism of Bush with the knowledge of what happened on 9/11. I also do not think that the Iraq war has been waged for any nefarious reason. I think the politicians were given bad "intelligence" and based on that, Dem and Repubs alike felt that war was necessary. It was a mistake...but, IMHO, it was not intentionally misleading.

on behalf of the worst and 2nd most corrupt President ever, Ronald Reagan You must think that Clinton was the 1st and 2nd best president. It's always uplifting to have 'bubba' in the white house with his OW under the desk, cheating on this wife. "I did not have sex with that woman"....no but you did get a BJ from her and God knows what else and for most, if not all of us here on this site, that's cheating!!! Nothing like morals and values in a president. Some may be able to overlook the cheating if he had been a good president in other ways but he wasn't WHAT A JOKE

Hehe, so now I get it.. When Palin starts fumbling and babbling tomorrow, it'll be Ifill's fault, because she will have given Palin a dirty look...
"It's the moderator's fault", I see the slogan being printed up already. Just like it was "gotcha journalism" for the media to report on a voter's question that got Palin all wrapped around the axle.. LMAO...
AGG NewTruth alert!! NewTruth alert!! pssst to AGG!! You are speaking OldeTruth!! That is yesterdays spin! The spin has changed!! Some forward thinking libbies realized that the lowered expectations of Palin would make any decent showing a GRAND SUCCESS! DUH!! "We've looked at tapes of Gov. Palin's debates, and she's a terrific debater," Obama campaign manager David Plouffe told reporters Saturday. "She's obviously a skilled speaker. We expect she'll give a great performance next Thursday."Those are your new talking points! NewTruth alert!! NewTruth alert!!

I think the politicians were given bad "intelligence" and based on that, Dem and Repubs alike felt that war was necessary. It was a mistake...but, IMHO, it was not intentionally misleading. Certainly none of us can prove what was intentional and what was a matter of only seeing arguments/documents that supported one's original views. I blame the Democrats who voted for this war as much as I blame Bush, assuming they had access to all the unfiltered intelligence. I also note that Obama was one of the very few who openly opposed the war before it started, for which I give him credit. But we do know that Bush has talked about getting rid of Hussein before 9/11 and before getting to office. The fact that he decided to invade Iraq after 9/11 (which had nothing to do with 9/11), instead of continuing to focus on Afghanistan (and trying to get OBL), is bothersome to me. AGG

getting rid of Hussein was a good thing...and it should have been done sooner. He was killing a lot of peope and needed to be stopped. The shame is, we haven't done that in other places as well. Darfur comes to mind. I also note that Obama was one of the very few who openly opposed the war before it started, for which I give him credit. Obama had no access to the intelligence and nothing at stake with his opinion. He was in a state position.

Sarah Palin.....WAS.....IS......AND WILL ALWAYS be the best choice for the Rep VP ticket. Please. She wasn't picked for her credentials. She was picked because she is a WOMAN. She is as dumb as a rock. (My apologies to rocks.) Charlotte

Yes. I am dead serious. That woman is a danger to this country. I really wish she WOULD withdraw so he could pick someone else. You've got that wrong....Osama Obama is the danger to this country....unless of course you want to live in a socialist nation, which I think all of you Liberals do. Just wait until 70% of your paychecks are going into welfare to support all those that don't want to work. Oh and don't forget healthcare, God forbid people have to work for their health insurance coverage. Hey....here's an idea......why don't we ALL work for what we have and stop depending on the government and taxpayers.

Darfur comes to mind. Why didn't we kill Qaddafi, responsible for numerous deaths? I agree that Hussein was a bad guy and the wolrd is better without him, but I am not at all sure that the price paid for it was worth it. Also agree on need to help Darfur. So what do we do, invade Sudan? Then Iran? Then North Korea? Then Zimbabwe? And that's just a warmup... I also note that Obama was one of the very few who openly opposed the war before it started, for which I give him credit. Obama had no access to the intelligence and nothing at stake with his opinion. He was in a state position. Understood. But philosophically, his position of "think before you shoot" is one that I agree with. AGG

Hehe, so now I get it.. When Palin starts fumbling and babbling tomorrow, it'll be Ifill's fault, because she will have given Palin a dirty look... You no longer are supposed to pretend like she did any worse than "ShiftyEyes" Biden and start extolling her superior debate skills. Otherwise folks will be astonished when she kicks old Shiftyeyes beeehind in the debate tomorrow.
New talking points have been issued!

AGG Yes, the personal attacks coming from the left are breathtaking. The FEAR is palatable. And I can't blame ya. I would be scared too if the best counter I could muster is a shifty eyed washington establishment political hack that most people wouldn't buy a used car from. would you buy a used car from Joe Biden?

She was picked because she is a WOMAN. I think she was picked because she is very conservative, and because McCain figured (correctly) that she'd be enough of a distraction to throw things in disarray. Unfortunately for him, the disarray did not last long enough, and the fog is now lifting. She is as dumb as a rock. (My apologies to rocks.) Yup. We're finding out more and more every day as to how dumb she truly is. AGG

would you buy a used car from Joe Biden? I never supported Biden for Prez, but in this election, we are unfortunately once again stuck with choosing the lesser of two evils. I don't know who I'd buy a car from, but when it came to giving someone the nuclear codes, I'd have to go with Biden over Palin. I saw some background shows on Biden, and I happen to like him as a human being. When his wife and one child were killed in a car accident, he commuted back and forth to his Senate job in DC from Delaware daily to be with his two other toddlers. When told he may need to give that up, he said he'd give up his Senate seat before giving up on his kids. So yeah, I guess I'd buy a used car from him if I needed one. AGG

would you buy a used car from Joe Biden? That fear is the fear of at least 4 more years of Bush-like leadership, and those voters who are so sure that the last 8 years "weren't that bad" that they'd vote for the candidate who most closely resembles Bush politically, just because his VP candidate is anti-abortion, which whill still be legal in 4 years no matter who wins. Of course I'm afraid. I'm not myopic.

She did get lots of earmarks for her state, more per capita than anyone else... She did build the road to nowhere... Are these the things you are referring to? Better go back and check your facts AGG...

Trust me, if I end up thinking she does well, I won't have a problem saying that. I actually think that Biden has a very difficult job ahead of him - if he comes on too strong, then he falls into the "big bad bully beating up on a working mom" trap. But if he does not challenge her, then he is a wimp. Not an easy line to walk. AGG
