Mimi, I get it. I grew up in the south. Not pretty. I was in Dallas when Bobby and JFK were assassinated and in Memphis when MLK was assassinated. I was a child then, but vividly remember the times and events

I am 54 years old. Female. Professional. Highly educated. I desperately wanted Hillary to win.

But I am so behind Obama. If my issue didn't win, there are other issues that drive me, too.

Blessings to you.

I understand it as well. But the FACT is, you have tied yourself to a man that is a racist and radically liberal.

I doubt VERY highly that anyone would have voiced concern over the likes of Colin Powell being nominated.

Obama sitting in a pew listening to the rants of a racist for 20 years have brought this issue to the forefront. ANY decent person, no matter their color, should be VERY concerned with the character of Obama (given that he only distanced himself from the reverend for political gain).

I noticed that Ann Curry on NBC asked 6 undecided voters in Virginia who would vote against Obama because of his race. None said they would. But, I don't know that there is any person brave enough to ask who would vote for Obama because of his race. I have a feeling there are many people who would do vote for him with no regard for any credentials but solely because of his race. I KNOW I work with people who would do so.

Why do you say this, Cinders? I know plenty of people who would vote for Obama BECAUSE of his race. They would gladly tell you if you asked and wouldn't be ashamed of it. Probably ELDERLY BLACK PEOPLE.

You probably do. Why is this SO SHOCKING? RACE is an ISSUE in this country. We would be in DENIAL not to think so. I don't think that you should feel uncomfortable in talking openly about it. There's all kinds of people of all kinds of colors and opinions. There are black people who will vote SOLELY based on credentials, the same as for white people. There are white people who will vote SOLELY based on color. IT IS WHAT IT IS...

Me, I'm surprised at Cinders in being so naive.

I'm learning not to be so naive.

I'm learning more and more each day as I read here.

I'm getting a sense of how people really think in ways that I had not imagined.

I have not TIED myself to any man.

I don't consider Obama to be a racist, though, because his minister was one.

I grew up in a black church. They preach this "LIBERATION THEOLOGY". It can be misunderstood if taken out of context.

There's many a sermon that I have not agreed with. My minister's point of view, regarding politics, is not my own.

PLUS, we all here know about being let down and betrayed by someone whom we once believed and had faith in..

I know. I was just giving AN EXAMPLE of a group of people who will likely GLADLY and PROUDLY tell you that they will vote based on COLOR..BUT there's some ELDERLY black people who will vote SOLELY based on CREDENTIALS.

There's BLACK and WHITE people who will vote SOLELY based on COLOR.

There's BLACK and WHITE people who will vote SOLELY based on CREDENTIALS.

There's all kinds of people who do all kinds of things for all kinds of reasons.

This is the way that I look at things.

Since we are freely and respectfully discussing race, it is my belief and contention that the vast majority of the black population will vote based on color regardless of credentials.

Case in point...if a black were to go to blackgenocide.org they would see the following information...

Quote
The purpose of this website is to reveal the disproportionate number of black babies exterminated by the abortion industry in America.

Although black women constitute only 6% of the population, they comprise 36% of the abortion industry’s clientele. The leading abortion providers have chosen to exploit blacks by locating 94% of their abortuaries in urban neighborhoods with high black populations.

This high rate of abortion has decimated the black family and destroyed black neighborhoods to the detriment of society at large

If Barack Obama were pro life, the vast majority of the black population would be up in arms about this issue since it has resulted in a 35% DECREASE in the black population of the U.S. The shame is, they are voting for a candidate that will continue the slaughter of his own people. Sadly, the majority of the black population are following along like sheep to the slaughter.

That is sad.

Also, Obama having sat in the pew of that church for 20 years speaks to HIS judgement. His LYING that he NEVER heard the racist remarks(which even Wright refuted) speaks to his lack of character.

eta...the Clintons enjoyed enormous support from the black community in past elections. It certainly is NOT Barack Obama's experience or voting record that turned that tide.

Well, I've NEVER voted based SOLELY on COLOR. There's PLENTY of BLACK CANDIDATES that I HAVE NOT voted for...

There are LOCAL and STATE ELECTIONS, yanno, where there's lots of choices between BLACK and WHITE candidates...

I WILL NOT VOTE FOR AN ADULTERER WHO HAS NOT REPENTED!! NEVER EVER!! For that reason, I would NEVER vote for JESSE JACKSON!!

hopefully you get a chance to visit that website...it is run by a black pastor. It should interest all blacks considering the decimation that has been brought to your people as a result of the procedures that Obama supports.
