I received an e-mail at work about this same thing just today.

A couple of weeks ago i received an e-mail about some new thing they were doing with drugs and candy at schools. It actually was a letter sent out from a sheriff's office. I will have to dig that up and post it.

I got the same emails. The one about the candy is true. The other one about the drugs in the candy is NOT TRUE.

When I get emails like this, I always check www.snopes.com to verify if it's true or not....

Very wise! I have a friend who won't speak to me via email anymore because she kept forwarding me all these hoax emails, one after another. After a particularly crazy one that said I had to delete a file on my computer or risk untold viruses, I made the mistake of writing back to her with the snopes link showing it was a hoax. Instead of being glad to be shown the link, she got incredibly defensive and told me that I was trying to make her look dumb.

I didn't point out that she was doing that all by herself, she didn't need my help. I also didn't point out that it was pretty irresponsible of her to forward an email telling people to delete stuff on their computer without at least checking it out first.
