Just thought I'd `let you know that we have even MORE in common!
(Besides a great love for beer.... wink

I have been involved with my local city politics for a bit over 12 years now - I serve on two City Commissions, and just love it!

My long time alderman passed away recently, and he has left a term of 2 1/2 years........my Mayor has nominated me, and I have been accepted by the other council members, and I will be sworn in and seated for the next Council meeting on November 11th!! I will serve as interim alderman for 6 months, and will run in a special election in April for the remaining 2 years of the term!

I'm very excited!

Laura,

I have a big smile on my face for you. I won't advise you of the saneness of your decision as it seems that you already have experience in the pits.

I absolutely love the local politics and have convinced myself that I have a natural talent for it. I will almost assuredly run for mayor when the current mayor's term is up. My date last weekend seemed most interested in the fact that I had political aspirations.

I'll have one big party when I'm elected mayor! To my recollection, no one in my family has ever been elected to office before.

You go girl! Excuse me, woman wink

P.S. If you have the nerve (boldness is required in my world), email me sometime.
