Sorry, the search is not working.

The only way for me to gain any intelligence this time around is going to be with a recorder in her car to hope I can catch half of a cell phone conversation.

Where do you put it? Her car has an overhead console, could I put it in the compartment that usually holds the garage door opener? It would be close to her head and she would never look in there.

Would it not pick up the radio if it was playing?

What kind of quality can you expect from a vehicle traveling at Interstate speeds?

Can someone recommend a model? I see one at radio shack, which would be very quick and convenient to go pick up.

I bought one at Best Buy for about $30. I used a zip-tie and hid it underneath the driver's seat.

I tested it by turning it on when I went to pick up my kiddos from school. I was warned never to test it by doing the "testing...one, two, three" thing so as not to incriminate yourself (not that it will be hard to figure out who hid it).

Make sure you hide it well. You don't want her to find it. Mine did a pretty good job picking up voices...sometimes you couldn't hear the words clearly. But if she's doing something wrong, chances are she'll say enough things that you CAN hear to know what's up.

Good luck.

I had two recorders so I could swap them out when I got home late at night from college or work. After I got shot, I was sleeping in my recliner and would drag myself out in the middle of the night to exchange them as she kept the bedroom door locked.

I placed mine in the pocket in the back of the passenger seat as her car was a Chevy Blazer.

If the car has no pockets in the seats, cut a slot some foam rubber and stuff the recorder into the foam. Squeeze it under the seat where you can change the recorder and batteries with ease.

Copy the files onto your computer, erase the recorder and swap the next day.

I caught my XW on the first try and it was hard not to let on that I was gathering evidence to give OMW. I had enough evidence that his company fired him for taking my wife to lunch and "other places" with the company credit card.

I waited until I was healed enough to defend myself if needed to expose.

When confronted with the evidence, my wife went nuclear, but I had given all the evidence to OMW that day and OMW confronted her husband with a baseball bat. He in turn tried to warn XW by calling, but SS grabbed the phone and gave it to me.

She DENIED everything, even when I played her the recordings claiming I had manipulated the sounds, however I had snuck into her purse and took pictures of the text messages on her phone, not to mention we had a spare cell I went down to Verizon and had it activated claiming I lost the other phone, so the text messages come through on two phones at once.

I took that phone and slid it across the table to her and she denied it again, but the next recording she was talking to toxic friend about getting caught and was going to have OM hit me with a truck from work.

I got shot that weekend and while in the hospital she got the incriminating phone and broke it to pieces in front of me as I lay bleeding to death.

However, the damage to the affair was devestating, OM dropped her like third period French.

So any digital voice recorder with voice activation will work?

Any other specs I need to be aware of?

Sounds like if it worked strapped under the seat it would be as good if not better from the overhead console. I could velcro it in place and it would be easy access for me to swap them out.

Make sure it is voice activated and use only the highest quality batteries like alkaline and lithium.

The batteries still will only last for a full 24 hours.

Also make sure it has a USB port to download the recordings and the software will export to MP3 so you can give her a CD.

Any voice activated will work.
Use good batteries.

If you have a problem hearing. I recommend adding a lapel mic(best buy, office depot). Very small, will give you tons of hiddin options will get much better sound pick up/quality.

If you hide it in the overhead console, make sure that it isn't someplace that your spouse might find it. My H would have had to get out of the car and look way under the seat. It wasn't in a place that he would normally access. You don't want them to stumble upon it because then the A will go deeper underground and evidence will be harder to find.

PS. Pariah...I've never read your thread, but D$*m Man! That's some tricky collecting you did. Sorry it sounds like it worked (that the evidence was there for the getting) but WOW...I especially like the idea of having texts sent to two phones at once. I'll keep that one in mind.
