Need some help: Would rather not go into all of it, you can read my post in the 'emotional' forum, if it will help, but I need some advice.

Need to find a way to prove that husband and son were in a particular restaurant, at a particular time. Need to know if they were even THERE, that's really the most important part.

What might I say to the manager, to get him to tell me that? If I could get him to look for the receipt, and there IS one, then I'd know H was telling the truth. This is VERY important, so if you can think of ANYTHING, please share!!!

I need to know soon, so please post ASAP!

Thank you

what about going online to your credit card company and checking the pending activity. it usually updates a day or two after the fact.

Sorry, didn't mention, his SON paid for the meal, according to H.

There must be SOME way of finding out if they were at this restaurant. Do any of you have ANY ideas?

You could try a story, e.g. call up and say "there were two guys at your restaurant on (day) that looked like (insert description here) - one of them dropped (describe one of their personal belongings) on the way out, but he got into the car and left before I could catch up to him. I'd like to return it. Would you by chance have any contact information for them. Could you have them call me at (insert new cell number) please?"

Or you could call and say, "My boss and his son were at your restraurant on such and such date. He forgot or lost his receipt (giggle, giggle) and needs it for his expense report. His son may have picked up the tab, his name is ______, but my boss still wants to expense it."

If they paid in cash, you can then say, who would I need to talk to to find out if they remember them? I really need that receipt for this report.

What I see dangerous here is, if his son paid by CC, the manager might call him up, and tell him what I said. His son all ready is aware of how I don't trust my H very much, and I think he would automatically think it was me, checking.

It has to be a way, where there is NO way, the manager might contact him.

This seems a bit safer, since he most likely paid in cash, but I'm worried that the manager might ask me the company name, number, etc. so he can get back to me. I just cant' take that chance. I guess I'm paranoid over being found out.

Right now, H's anger is bad enough, can't risk making him any angrier.

Bringing this back up tonight. I haven't called the rest. yet, I was really hoping I could get a few more suggestions.

Also wanted to ask, what type of voice activated recorder would I buy, if I wanted to hide it somewhere in H's van?

Thank you
