I know this is not as surprising as it used to be but about a year ago I met a guy online. Although we live in the same city, we have yet to meet in person but instead have just talked on the phone for hours a night. Hit it off really well and started, fairly early, to say we love each other.

Now, today or fairly soon, I have to leave the state and take care of some personal matters. Not sure if we will talk very much or at all during this time.

My question is what do I do?
Do we make a pact to wait for each other?
Do we move on hoping life will bring us back together?

All of it seems silly considering we have yet to meet in person but I love him very much, shared plenty and care about each other. Plus, all I ever here about long distance relationships, is that they never turn out well... and I am sure those situations are not as complex as this.

Any help would be appreciated especially if you have experience in something similar. hurray

You might make plans to meet him in person in the future some time and get to know him better. Until that happens, there really isnt anything more to do.

Why haven't you met in person? Is he married?

Well to make the long details (which there is A LOT) short... We have yet to meet because a good time has not worked out for us. If my caretakers knew I met a guy online, they would literally kill me. The same for him but I am sure he would dis-obey those feelings for me but just hasnt. We have never pressed the issue I guess.
