thanks guys.... the house has been so weird with him gone even my boyfriend feels his loss in a big way. he loved wrestling with the big lovable lug. he too has shed tears over his loss. He was his dog dad.
i know eventually in a little while we will get another dog...i don't think i can be without one as I always had one growing up. I am scared now to get another shepard breed dog as that problem is supposedly very common in the breeds. this was the first case in a shepard that i have encountered tho.
My parents have golden retrievers and my fathers dog is a state certified search and rescue dog. Her name is lady and she is so sweet and mellow but when it comes time to work...she is dynamic. she has 2 litters of pup and a co-worker of mine has one of her daughters from the second litter. she is just like her mother. he will be breeding her with another golden from search and rescue during her next heat cycle. He asked me if I will welp the pups and we will get 2nd pick of the litter.
I said yes. I think we will get a female...blonde...all the females in my parents dogs line have been so mellow and great with kids and awesome working dogs. so in 5-6 months or maybe a bit longer...we will be getting a golden retriever pup.
I like to be prepaired so we sat down and tossed around names....her name will be shelby...after my favorite car...a shelby mustang of course.
