I suffer from manic depression and was having a bad time of it a few months ago.
A quiet/shy colleague started helping me a lot and was around my desk a lot rather than emailing. He was nice to me workwise and asked me to help him with a couple of projects. i started to enjoy work again and my depression lifted. You couldn't mistake the lovely looks i received.

At a works do, we chatted friendly and got on great. we had a lot in common. He said that he always liked me, which is true..
He asked me back to his but said that there would be no sex. We slept in each others arms, I was dressed. I felt close to him. He had helped to lift my depression!

I told my husband, he was angry but let me off and didn't want to talk about it anymore, but I did want to talk about it!

I asked the other guy out for a friendly drink. As the night wore on I noticed that the nice words were not suggesting friendship but more. We told each other secrets and he was attentive and caring (we did not speak about my marriage) he'd wanted to get to know me and wants to teach me to swim every wed!
We cuddled and he told me that he loved me. I guess it was the drink talking. We kissed.

My husband still brushed it under the carpet. I told him I was having an emotional affair. He was not phased by it. I think he thinks it will end but said i should go if HE really matters!
I feel terrible about the whole situation, its never far from my mind.
I am receiving emotional support from another man and not my husband. The other guy is still extremely helpful! I would love to be his friend but I also have strong feelings for him. I have never clicked with anyone as well as him in my life.

What do i do?!! Yes its totally wrong but....

Get away and stay away from OM. Quit your job since you work with him.

Hayley - Are you being treated for your BPD? It is important to stay on any treatment.

Your "friend" is not really a friend, or he wouldn't be attacking your marriage, and that is what he is doing. Please don't make the mistake of thinking these temporary feelings are worth tossing a marriage.

Also, you do need to get another job.

This makes me so very sad that your self respect is so low that you view this attention as flattering. Hayley, a man that hits on a married woman is not flattering her, he is insulting her. This is the HIGHEST INSULT to a married woman. He thinks you are CHEAP and EASY and has no respect for you. He thinks you are a sl*t. crazy

I assure you if you got a divorce, he wouldn't marry you because he knows you are easy and unfaithful. He could never take you home to his mother. How would he introduce you? "this is the married woman I am doing?" crazy His mother, if she is like most, wouldn't allow you to darken her doorstep.

Is this creep married?

To make matters worse, your H apparently doesn't care enough to lift a finger to make it stop.

How sad to see another woman degrade herself like this.

I believe that every married person, man or woman, who is being tempted by flirty words or actions, should tape this to their fridge and read it every morning!
