To all of you - THANK YOU SO MUCH.

You are the most wonderful group of people that I have ever known. Little did I know that the biggest heartbreak of my life would lead me to a place where I would be part of a community of people with such integrity, selflessness, and compassion. I just don't know what to say.

I pick the baby up tomorrow at 9:00am. I got the car seat today, and I found someone to lend a Pack N Play. It isn't exactly a bed, more like a play pen with an attached changing table, but the changing table will work for him to sleep in while he still isn't able to turn over.

I will register at Target tomorrow. For privacy purposes, I won't use my real name. I doubt they check ID's, so I'll register under the name of Bambino Chai. If there is any problem with that, I will let all of you know.

Kimmy, thank you for offering to send what you have. I will get with Cinder and email you my address.

I drop DD off at detox after we leave the hospital. She is then scheduled to go into the rehab in 10 days. The CPS worker came to the hospital today and was not easy on her at all. She was buying none of DD's carp. I think she finally met someone that isn't going to mess with her. It was simple - do it or I'll see you in court and take your son.

So again, thanks to all of you. I think I'm ready. I bought formula today, but had to get the powder. Six bottles of premade was $11.00. At that rate, it would cost $20/day to feed him and it would only go up from there as he ate more and more. The powder was $22 and should make enough to get through 4 - 5 days for now.

I need to get my last night's sleep.

This is enough to make me cry. I will do my very best to mail the package tomorrow.

I tried to call you today but missed you. I have asked some of my friends to pray for you. They are good women and will do so.

CL, you are doing a wonderful thing! Makes my heart sing. The powdered formula is the bomb! Keep the water at room temp and mix as you need. You will never have to warm a bottle that way.

This is what I did with the littles. The powdered formula is so much more cost effective than the pre-made, and is JUST as nutritious....it only LOOKS different.

Also, if your dishwasher has a "steralize" setting use it for the nipples and bottles. Makes life a lot easier.

They have little baskets now that you can put the nipples and the nippies (pacis) in to wash them in the dishwasher...well worth the $5 or so at Target or BabysRUs.

I found the Mam nippies were best for my kids, but my sister used the Nuks for hers. Try different ones, but when you find the one he likes stick with it. It's a lot easier to throw a nippie away than to get a kid off a thumb (ime).

Lessee...I've got a friend who makes (crochets) the protective covers for cloth diapers. She soaks them in lanolin so they are water proof. Do you need her website addy or are you going to go with disposable?

What else?

Things that had changed from when Z was little (19 years ago)...so will have changed for you too...no tummy sleeping. They have baby "kickstands" now that keep them on their sides or backs.

Get a swing. Best thing in the WORLD...even if it's a windie one.

Um...geez...I love me a baby. Guess you haven't noticed, eh?

Holler if you have questions. We've lotsa mommies out here...

You could apply for W.I.C. Chai. They will help with buying baby formula, etc. It has been a life saver for us, especially since Baby D goes through about 1 every two days!

I agree, the powdered formula is the best. It's much better if you plan to take the baby out or to travel. The pre-made can go bad much quicker, while with the powdered, you can make the bottles as you need them. What kind are you using? Baby D uses Good Start Supreme with Natural Cultures (DHA & ARA) and is supposed to be very close to breast milk. DHA & ARA are in breast milk. It's costly, though.

Anyway, congrats!!

I have a gazillion newborn baby boy clothes that Baby D has grown out of. They are all practically new and in good shape. smile

Yes! They were a lifesaver for my daughter. They'll give you up to 17 cans of formula a month. (I think that was the amount.)

Here's the website:

Yep! Right now I get 10 cans per month. That would cost me about $150 if I had to pay for it.

This is good. One less worry for YOU...seeing that you will be quite busy with the little one.

...it seems to me that BAMBINO CHAI, in his own way, is helping you... by bringing joy, focus and clarity into your life.

WOW...great info. coming your way, CL!

...and since the little one can't talk yet, I'll say it for him: Grandma CHAI, THANK YOU for looking after me when my mommy can't, yet!

Remember, CL, if you want to take care of the little one, it's all the more reason to take of YOU, as well!

Hello all!

This is Barbiecat, (nooooooooooooooooo. :))

Yesterday I went to Target. I found the correct information-- (in the invite) BUT-Perviously I was told that I could buy something here in Target Detroit, and Chai could pick it up at her Target store in Cin.

I was told this by more than one person... LIARS! shocked

Sooo. At first I threw a fit! smile smirk  frown :MrEEk:

Then I looked around for that small white spotted Target dog to kick! naughty

.....I really quietly complained to myself. grumble

So. Even if you go to Target, you will still have to send your items to Chai. No a big deal, but one I was trying to avoid for at the posters!

So Chai- I sent bbc a gift- It went out on a "slow boat to china" yesterday- hopefully he will get it soon! dance2

Or you can buy it online at Target and just have it shipped directly to her.

I'm a long-time lurker, and would like to help. Is there a way to send diapers or formula (not on the registry) to the Bambino Chai registry address?

Chai, I have another friend who has been through something similar. I was e-mailing w/ her today and she sent me this. I pass it on to you:

she smoked herion, did cocaine and crack. she said she preferred cocaine.

it's a miracle, Jane Elise.

the love she has for her son saved her life.

she was 7 months pregnant and weighed 95 lbs the nite she got arrested. Judge M-----, a saint and a gentleman, put her in a court ordered and monitored unwed mother facility in lieu of jail. After delivery and completion of the court program, she was allowed to live at the House of M---- under strict guidelines, intense therapy, and a commitment to drug and alcohol programs. She is now free to leave the House of M----, is a fine hairdresser at B------- Hair Salon in B-----, and is becoming pre-qualified to buy her own home.

Miracle.

It is wonderful you are doing this for your grandson. My grandmother and grandfather did this with my full-brother and me, albeit that they were about ten years younger than you.

My heart goes out to you. I pray that a miracle comes your way if circumstances force you to keep your DGS.

Hi all,

Not much time. He is sleeping now, so wanted to do a quick update.

I have a whole new appreciation for menopause now.

OMG is all I can say. Very little sleep the first night, and I had a beast of a headache yesterday. He had his first dr. appt and everything looks good except testes haven't dropped. He will need to see a urologist. Not an emergency though.

Went to the shop for a couple of hours yesterday, so the girls fought over who got to hold him. Gave me a little time to continue getting all of the extra paperwork for the D. My atty answered many of the questions as "too burdensome" or "if you want it, subpeona it" because we have already submitted much of it twice.

Anyway, headache got worse so my friend came over last night and let me sleep for a couple of hours. She fed and bathed him for me and he seemed to do a little better last night.

Getting the hang of powdered formula. It isn't as hard as I thought. Hospital says we now don't have to sterilize anymore as long as we have city water.

My DD did sign up for WIC, and the lady called yesterday to tell me that I can pick up the coupons.

Have lost about 6 pacifiers. Like missing socks, don't know where they go.

I have a mound of laundry already.

I had forgotten just how much stuff you need to take when you leave the house. I keep forgetting things. UGH

I hope I've answered your questions. I'll try to update again tonight. The other GPs want me to bring him over today so I'm going to do that. CPS says he cannot leave my supervision, so I have to stay with them while they visit. Since BF and DD are not M and there is no paternity test, they have no legal rights.

Sorry this is so choppy. I'm still operating on less than a full tank.

Thanks again to all of you!!!!! I love you all....
