I'm currently going through the divorce process. After I discovered my WW's first affair, I tried to follow all the advice on MB. 6 yrs later (and multiple affairs), I have come to realize that my WW is just a gigolo. I believe I had done everything possible to meet her EMs. It's sort of disheartening to know I gave it everything I could, only to discover it didn't matter. She still wants to stay married to me, and has no interest in running off with someone else! (go figure) Even after I told her I wanted a divorce, I found her chatting on line with an old friend that was very sexual in content...and he's married...she just doesn't get it.

Am I one of the few people out there that has a gigolo spouse?

After looking up the meaning of this word, I do not understand your post.

The term "gigolo" is only mentioned once on MB. It refers to a spouse who continues to cheat even if the other spouse meets every emotional need.

I might be wrong, but I think the more common term of use around here is "serial cheater".

I think of a gigolo as someone like Richard Gere in that old movie. Basically a very high-end male prostitute who gives companionship and even sex to women in exchange for money and favors.

I don't call my WH (STBXH) a gigolo - I use the term m@nwh@r@

I was an emotional and physical wreck for years wondering what really caused our M to fall apart. I did what most BS do, I watched everything (or as much as I could) he did, what quantity and quality of women he was involved with, etc. I watched him drink to excess, stay out all nite, porn, strip clubs etc.

Finally, the truth hit me and it was a huge relief - IT WAS NEVER ABOUT ME...he is a serial cheat, womanizer, SA, whatever you want to call

Don't think of it as "disheartening" think of it positively - No matter what you would have done - it's her - she's never going to stop being a cheater NO MATTER WHO SHE IS WITH !

Mine apparently wants to stay married and living in the same home too. Mine has had some serious relationships ( at least I thought they were) but they end, I think the longest lasted maybe a year.

Maybe it's like a fisherman - they love to put thier wadders on (get dressed up, become someone else), throw out the line, catch and RELEASE !!!

At times I feel sorry for the women that get caught up with him, because they will never be enough !!

Actually, the more I put the pieces of the puzzle together, the more I realize that my WW isn't a "gigolo"...she is a "sex addict". For the things she has done, and the fact that it didn't matter how much I was meeting her EM's, it makes complete sense. For a woman, a "sex addict" is someone who typically wants to renew the feeling of Romance or Intimacy normally found in a new relationship (not an "old boring" marriage). A woman "sex addict" is someone who is constantly pursuing this "high".

STELLAAAAAAAA!

There was an old 1930's musical movie where a song went "gigolo or gigolette"

Come on aren't you PC?

You know there's no more fireman: firefighter, policeman: police officer.

But there still is rampant sexism. A ship is still refered to as a "she".

Why not our turn at "him"?

Our how about we call a ship a "shim"?

It's your WW. So you get to use the term that you want without apology.
