Well, I have mixed emotions but I am filing tomorrow. I cannot believe I have put up with everything for over 6 years now. I have finally just had enough! Wheew! My son and I are going to be my only focus. But....this is kinda scary!

Me too, filing this week, and my son and I are going to be the only focus... so sick of years and years of this. It's kinda scary to me too!

Hey Jen,
Get a good lawyer and find out what you can expect in terms of settlement, support etc. I would recommend that you come to some sort of compromise out of court unless there are really big bucks involved. The Lawyers tend to eat up all the money themselves if you are really fighting each other.
You will get through it. I waited a long time but I'm doing better now.

I'm reading a lot of divorce books right now myself, there's one that has you set up a folder with like 15 files by subject that I'm finding helpful. The more you get to your attorney in writing, documented the better it seems. Most books are saying like 6yearsleft said avoid court at all costs or attorneys will eat up any of the funds....
I am a single mom, have been for four years. It's hard but I enjoy it for the most part. I have peace from the horrid fighting. But it's not to be taken lightly, it's not an easy life. Take care

I'm sorry jen, my name is jen too... So it must be going around with jen's I've been at this so many years, separated four So don't think it's going around with me But what is best for you and your son If you've tried, considered all alternatives Being a single mom, it's hard But I can attest it's rewarding too You get in single mom mode And you get independent in no time And what you learn from hard times Will blow you away Us strong single mom's we don't put up with much We need to learn to be less strong on one hand But we get tough But to lighten up after so much That's the key To be tough strong women, and still love, but we need to know.... you can hug a man but KEEP YOUR EYES OPEN next time Take care jen from jen
