Nope, it's here in the USA too. I've used it to look at vacation homes and how close to the water they are.....never dawned on me though to use it for this purpose...

I used it to scope out WstbxH & OW's apartment and then their house (see if there was a pool etc.).

Since I know how to link NOTHING, I've gotten instructions but not had time to play .... Could someone link that site in a post on the thread 'Snooping' ??? I'll do the leg work, find it and bump it. This would be so helpful to people ... and so harmful to others.  Busted.

how often does it update? every few months? seems like you would have to be extremely stupid or unlucky to get caught with those odds. however, i read a PI's site, and he is amazed at how ignorant (or oblivious) waywards are. He says almost always cheaters will park next to each other when meeting up...amazing isn't it?

Saw this also - even posted this link after you had already done so. This is rather interesting because my house is on street view and wondered what I would do if I saw another car in the drive way.

Hi! I have found something new that it seems could be useful. http://www.maps.google.comWhen it comes up, type in an address in the search box at the top. A map will come up and possibly, a photograph on top of the map. If there is a photo, click on the words "street view" in the photo box. The photo will become larger. You will see that you can navigate 360 degrees. Move north, south, east, west, zoom in and out. Pretty self-explanatory when you see it. It seems like they only have photographs in large cities and their suburbs right now. It's actually VERY scary. I typed in OW's address and the picture came right up. However, *I* live in a small town and mine only came up as a map without a photo. Another way of finding the site is to type "google maps" (without the quotation marks) into a search engine. The addresses are only approximate but they're VERY close. I was shocked. I guess this can be both good and bad but I definitely think it might help if spying is necessary. I posted this about a year ago on the Spying 101 thread. I do not think it updates very often. Unless a satellite view is being used, it would be impractical for Google to update. They actually drive a car with a 360 degree camera down the street to get the views they have now. I think actually catching a cheater this way would be very coincidental. I found it useful knowing where the OW lives though. It gave me a kind of peace to actually see the w***"s house.

I've used it to scope out the skank's house but it's just a snapshot in time, so not reliable.
However, he had a picture on his computer of skanky sitting by her pool but swore it wasn't her. The pool was uniquely shaped and I verified through GoogleEarth (also local.live through MSN is good) that it was in fact her pool. She lives 2000 miles away and he's never been there (it was all computer/phone with an old girlfriend) but I was curious to see what she looked like and it was nice to have her very ordinariness confirmed.

As a former PI myself, I can tell you that this website does only update intermittently every few months. And depending on the locations sometimes years. In one instance a home I was staking out hadn't even been built yet according to this site but had actually been built for over 2 years.

Yes, that was how I felt too. I was "pleased" to see that she lived in a highly ordinary place that she doesn't even own. Lives with her son.

If you think Google Earth is good, check out Microsoft's virtual earth. Way better, with street views, and 3D.
It's a free download.

I have used virtual earth by google, and our car is parked at our old house in Seattle that we left in August 2006, and our car and old shade canopy from summer 2007 is at our current address!!!LOL!!!

Our old house in Portland OR is still the same of "Portland School District Green" that it was when we sold it.....18 years ago. Of course, it's entirely possible that it still IS that same awful color.

I used this and guess what the van that belongs to OW that H uses and hides his car somewhere else is parked in front of the house. I know it is not real time but it makes me sick looking at it knowing how at the beginning I would drive by and not see his car but that van.

For example: Todays Google shows a Lowes truck in front of my house. It is delivering a refrig I purchased near Thanksgiving 2007.
