If you value your sanity, do not, repeat, DO NOT, watch the TV show "Once and Again". It's all about two divorced people and their kids and their new relationship and their ex-spouses and it's very depressing for anyone in our states.
It depressed me when I first watched it, but I found myself drawn to it again tonite... I must be a masochist or something!
you've been warned! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
--andy

I watched it a few weeks ago. It didn't affect me likeought it would. Sure seeing the divorced people getting on with their lives was a bit rough, but I think it was pretty good.
Besides, I'm moving to Hollywood to find Sella Ward!!! ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
------------------
Prayers & God Bless!
Chris
For relationship info check out www.pcisys.net/~chriscal1/resources.html
[This message has been edited by Chris (CA123) (edited October 20, 1999).]

My H was over lasst night - we watched a movie and when it went off, the show was on. He said he watched it and that it was very baad for us in our state.
I thought - After everything he has said this week - WHY DON"T YOU JUST COME HOME??? If you think the show is that bad for us to watch, if we live it how much better can it be for real???

I've been watching the show. It won't last -- its too close to real life for audiences. It's depressing but I appreciate that it doesn't sugar-coat things.
What really strikes me is the strained, tense relationships between the ex-spouses. And divorce is supposed to solve our problems?

Ok, this sounds like one I will definately avoid... about the only thing I feel safe watching right now is Nick at Night. Althought I did grab a tape last night and watch "The Professional" and another movie about professional assasins......HUM, maybe I'm considering a career change.....
(trying to find a sence of humor in me somewhere today... Airheart: I try and stay away from watching show like that. The closest I get is ER. I won't even listen to "easy listening" or country music because of the depressed lyrics. I am not on any medication so in order to keep my depression in check, I try and avoid any emotional media of any sort. I am probably one of the few 40 plus who listens to heavy metal, disco, oldies (50's early 60's) and watches The Three Stooges, Alien(s), documentaries, Horror flicks, anything that will keep from triggering mental pain. I don't watch porn either. However, I did see "The Story of Us" this weekend and of course I cried.
Peace to you!

Maybe it's just me, but I don't find it depressing at all. I love the show. It shows that you can find love the second time around, and I don't think that's a bad thing at all. Sela Ward's character's H cheated on her, but she divorced him and is going on with her life. She has a GREAT new relationship (and the most handsome man on television, IMO!!!), so what's not to love about that? I think a lot of the people on this forum waiting around for their cheating spouses to "come to their senses" should be able to find great inspiration in this true-to-life story. Sometimes holding on is not the way to go, especially when the spouse is a louse!
JMHO

I hate the show. I watched the first episode and was sick because she isn't divorced yet and she is carrying on like that. At least wait until every thing is finalized before you do what she is doing. She is wrong because her marriage is not over even though it is in her head and heart. As far as God is concerned it ain't over. However, the show doesn't talk about God at all. It is repulsive.

------------------
God Bless,
Rob

I have watched all shows but last week. I enjoy it knowing there will be life after the Divorce. I have hoped he would get rid of his lover and come home but that has not happened. I have put up with it almost a yr and his MLC for nearly 2/4yrs. How much is one to take...He doesn't want his new life he said DUH! how come she is still in then? He is so severly depressed my heart aches for him. His is sucidical thinking he is giving himself 5yrs to make the business a success. I told him the life style he is leading will kill him first.CYA .

I watched the show from the start, and it did'nt really bother me.I think it does show the problems that can stem from divorces.Although,I thought Sela Ward's character said they were'nt divorced yet in the first show.Did I hear that wrong? Her H fooled around with a 22 year old,and still comes and goes in her house as he pleases.Strange relationship! But it does hit close to home for a lot of people,so we'll see if it lasts. --Murph
