Ok so I will be jobless when I move out of the house in May and move back to AZ. I still have to pay for my car, well our car because its in both of our names. I know I cannot afford the car payment on my own what should I do?
Should I let it be repoed? Should I try to refinance it? Should I try to trade it in for a brand new car that has some rebates?
I feel lost.

I'd have to know all the particulars of your budget to give you an answer. Explore your options and compare. If you're going to be without a job, you probably don't want a car payment you don't have a way to pay. Can you sell the car and will you have any equity with which to purchase a less expensive vehicle? Sometimes you can buy them at auctions...my son bought a Suburu with all wheel drive that ran good and even had a spare set of tires/wheels for it, but he had to replace the bumper...not bad for $450. It also depends on if you are handy or know anyone who is.

I'm driving a 1998 Taurus that I paid $1500 for a year ago. So, it has some miles on it but I've only had to do about $200 in work plus new tires. Granted, it needs a tune up and break job....but that's a lot less than a car payment for a few months.
Think about how much value that new car will lose the second you drive it off the lot. Dave Ramsey would tell you you need to sell/trade the new car on a used one that will leave you NO PAYMENT.
Remember, a car is a tool. You don't need the fanciest, shiniest tool to get the job done. You NEED the least expensive, safe, reliable car that will transport you. It is about getting the job done - not about style and status.

And if you let it be repossessed it may hurt your credit for years to come. I'd try to sell it and see what you can get with what's left.

I feel lost. Are you not jobhunting? Most people find their jobs on the Internet these days. All you have to do is search in the city you're moving to.
