To make a VERY LONG story short. My husband & I have been separated now for 4 months. I moved out 1 1/2 months ago as he wouldn't leave. I had been a stay at home mome for seven years. No schooling, except for some community college. I got a job at a supermarket as a checker, but only working 20-25 hours a week. I have my children now every other week. (three precious boys 7yr, 4yr, and 1yr). We had a savings so that is what I used to pay for my place, because I do not have any family. I paid 4 months up front. The money is dwindling down as I have had to make purchases...couch/entertainment center/stools/etc. Then groceries, gas, diapers, special milk for youngest, etc. Since August he has given me $735 for sex. He paid me $300 two different times for sex and $135 recently for sex. I know that is sick. I am going to counseling as well to ARMS (Abuse Recovery Ministry & Services) group. I was sexually abused in our marriage for the last nine years. I'm getting help now as I have had no self-worth.

I guess my question is how to get a lawyer...a probono one or cheap one at that? Do you have any tips on what I need to look for in a lawyer? I really don't want to do anything legally, but I asked him again last night if he would be willing to help me some finanically and his answer is no. He is extremely narcissitic and extremely controlling and emotionally/mentally abusive. I don't know what to do other than get the ball rolling legally so I can get some help financially. Like I said I don't have any family or anywhere to stay with three boys for free, so I'm having to figure this out on my own and work.

Any suggestions/ideas/help...I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

If you are in the US go to www.unitedway.org. If not, use your city's social services to get help.

If he's abusive, you need to get your kids away from him.
