A question to anyone who might own a Blackberry. My wife's Blackberry is GPS compatible. All I have to do is activate the service somehow. My question is; is there a visible icon on the screen of a Blackberry Curve when GPS is enabled? She sleeps with her phone; its her best friend, so she knows it intimately. If there is anything strange going on she will spot it immediately. Thanks

I think the carrier will send a message to the phone to alert the user that they are being tracked, at least that's how it was through Sprint when we checked.

I think if you get flexispy, you can do it with GPS undetected, but you need to get your hands on the actual phone to DL it.

Thanks SusieQ, I'll check into the flexispy, but honestly I would stand a better chance of getting my hands on the Hope Diamond than I would getting them on my wife's unlocked Crackberry. Thank you again.

Yes, my sister's WH did the same thing, she couldn't get her hands on it for one second. Even if she had, it was password protected...

She got a GPS from Target for about $100 and put it in the car. How about trying that?

Make sure it doesn't make noises to telegraph its presence too if you do.

I second the GPS device that you can put in her car. This is how I discovered my WH's A. I bought mine through Zoombak. It does require a year subscription; however, you can log in at anytime and discover where the car is. You do have to plug it in every few days though. HTH!

I purchased the LandAirSea "GPS Tracking Key." It does not broadcast in real time; you fasten it to the car by way of a strong magnet (I put it in a sandwich bag to keep the elements from affecting it). It runs on two AAA batteries (which depending on how much driving is done) can last up to two weeks (the Lithium ones are recommended if there is a lot). Even if the batteries die, the data is kept stored until you erase it. It connects to your computer via USB and the included software creates a log and even uses Google Maps to show you images of where and when.

It was so good that I had no problem identifying OM's digs, which enabled me to drive out one evening and photograph their two cars sitting next to one another in the driveway. Since the GPS data showed her arrival time, departure time, and time elapsed (over night, no kidding), the proof was pretty concrete.

$199 plus S&H. Not cheap, but worth every penny for the data I got. And the peace of mind that brought with it.
