Has anyone seen the new WebTV ad on television? It's the one with a goofy looking guy watching the stock report on TV. You hear the reporter saying that the stock and bond markets are up, mutual funds are up, everything is up...and then he says except for your portolio Steve. You didn't look at your investments closely enough, blah, blah, blah. Your broke.
At the very end, the reporter says ..."oh yeah Steve, your wife left you too."
This is supposed to solicit a humorous response. All I could do was stare in disbelief and then yell obscenities at my TV. For those of you who may have seen this ad, do you think it's as insensitive as I do? Or a I just being too touchy?
------------------
He who has a "why" to live for can bear with almost any "how".
-Nietzsche-

Shattered1 -- I saw this commercial just last night, and I have to agree with you. I too thought it was inappropriate.
Maybe we are just being overly sensitive. Two years ago, I would have probably thought the commercial was very funny. I even started to laugh when I saw it last night, but as the evening wore on, I found myself getting more and more upset over it.
God Bless

I saw it last night also. It just shows how callous society has become and it only appears to be getting worse. It shows that the love of money is getting the better part of most.
------------------
God Bless,
Rob

I too haven't seen TV since April (discovery) except for the EWTN channel...
Enough... someone whose watching, post on this site/thread and inform us who the sponsor/corporation who is funding this advertising... and if everyone here sends a scathing email/snail-mail to them... they may get the message! It wouldn't hurt to CC: the mail to the TV stations(s) who subscribe to this commercial.
Jim
