Hi all,

As most of you know ive been around the forums for a while now and read hundreds of threads.

I have been researching factors that may or may not be affecting my ability to move my marital recovery forward and am fascinated to learn about EQ (emotional Intelligence). While my IQ is above average I've always struggled to deal with emotion; both my own and other peoples. I read literature and taken online tests and apparently my EQ score is embarassingly low. This does make sense and the different elements of EQ definately highlight my weaknesses.

What im seeking is books that I can work through with an aim to improve myself as a person. The main areas I wish to work on are: Emotional Intelligence, justification, selfishness and compartmentalisation.

I am posting here because of all people in all walks/stages of life, the people suffering with/through/after affairs deal with changes more than any other and so I hoped someone may be able to share ideas that have been successful for them.

I think I remember seeing some books recommended on here at various times during various threads but im unable to find them once more (im aware of His needs Her needs).

Any advice would be gratefully received.

Hope your all well.......

Here's two more for you:

The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman
Love & Respect by Emerson Eggerichs

The first was a huge factor in speeding the R process. The second helped reinforce many things that I'd learned through research after D-Day.

Thank you so much for taking time to share, its one thing searching through amazon etc; through hundreds of books all claiming to be the best thing since sliced bread. I thought by asking for recommendations I would recieve info on books that have made a positive difference to peoples lives in a similar situation to my own.

Thanks again. smile
