How is the grandbaby doing?
Wonderful. Just wonderful. Except, they are nearly 6 hours away, and we don't get to hold the baby enough.
How are the holiday poundages, or do I want to know?
I gained, but have lost it again, and more.
This morning it was sprinkling snow out of a virtually clear sky.
That means it's really, really, really cold. It's the humidity freezing and falling out of the sky. At least it did that in Alberta.
Too warm here today, I am afraid my peach tree is going to budd, and then freeze.
There is a good chance I'll be in Southern Cal next week.

Congratulations on the baby and lbs both.
The snow thingy explains alot. I joke sometimes that my breath, instead of steaming, shatters and falls to the ground, but I hadn't actually seen it happen before.

Let me know if you want to meet my H and I! You bet !! It would be an honor. Tuesday, Wed, or Thurs would probably be better for me. I'll be spending most of my time in Alhambra, and South Pasadena.

The climate I grew up in, and that I live in now is similar to Las Vegas, NV. Mild winters, and hot summers. Living in Alberta, Canada was an eye opener for me. They say you get used to it, but I never did in the two years I lived there. How do you get used to 50 below zero? Burrrrrr. SS

It looks like the email I sent to 2long has bounced. It says his mail box is full.
I don't know if he knows we are trying to plan a get together.
Here I am in Sunny California. No problems with the drive. I hope the work goes as well.

Some Little Dervish stories just don't make it to the blog. A few minutes ago he got ratted out stealing a bowl of ice cream. I told him to give it to me, intending that it should not go to waste, or down his gullet, either one. Instead, he first put some in his mouth, spit it back out in the bowl, and stirred it around. Not content with that, he spat in it. In the course of wrestling for the bowl, he said he was going to eat it. So I spat in it, too.

Almost every thing you write about that boy reminds me of my youth. I wasn't the one that did the spitting though, It just reminded me of a story from my distant past. I narrowly avoided being sucked into the mists of time. That was close.
I did manage to meet up with FF and her H. They are nice folks. I could have talked a lot longer - but I realized it was getting late, and we let them go home.
FF, I hope I wasn't too hard on your H.

One day, MANY moons ago, I ate a rollie pollie (sow bug) that our son put into the ice bin, as a joke. His little sister provided all the encouragement he needed. First off I must say, I cannot, nor ever will, recommend a rollie pollie as a condiment. They are bitter in the extreme. Even frozen solid.
The kids were near hysterics with laughter as I made efforts to get the bitter taste off my tongue. They managed to display their laughter from more than an arm's length, smart as they are.
Their giggling continued for far to long for my taste (pun).
I fixed both of the kids with my worst motherly evil eye (you know the one), and said:
"You won't know when. You won't know where. Never forget, I am the person who prepares YOUR MEALS."
Their giggling came to an abrupt halt. Their smiles turned to a sudden look of horror.
It was the last bug put into the ice bin.

Methinks I'm going to have to go to Half Priced Books. I really like OSC.
Thanks Fred. Like I didn't already need to get more bookshelves. When the Wookie asks, I'm pointing fingers at YOU!
Pep, I once told my sister that if she didn't stop whatever it was she was doing (I can't remember now what it was), that I was going to sneak in her room at night and cut off all her hair. At the time, her hair was down to her hinder.
To this day, when the story is told, she gets all indignant and SWEARS she didn't sleep for weeks because of that.
Dayum straight. Don't pi$$ your sister or your mother off. Both of 'em know where you park it at night.

SS Sorry, SS I just now saw this! We had a wonderful time with you and your son. You are both very good men. I see you raised your "boy" quite well. Honestly, whatever you said went right over my H's head. As you can tell he is a talker and loves to be social.
