So much for my keen observation skills! I must be losing my touch. No explanation for coke glass other than a diversion and to make me think he hadn't thought.

DH is completely free of cancer. He goes back in a few months for a recheck but his health is definitely improved! As for me, I had a little heart episode a couple of weeks back and ended up in the hospital. It's probably from all the wear and tears over the years. I'm definitely getting the gray hair to match. Life is fun.

It's been about six years of recovery for us and I have to admit that I'm a little disappointed about some things-- to the point that I'm wondering if it was all worth it. Trying to figure it out.

Thanks for asking!

Life is difficult.

First sentence (above) in a great book.
The Road Less Traveled
by M. Scott Peck

Quote
This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths. It is a great truth because once we see this truth, we transcend it.
Once we know that life is difficult - once we truly understand and accept it - then life is no longer difficult.
Because once it is accepted, the fact that life is difficult no longer matters.

Quote
What makes life difficult is that the process of confronting and solving problems is a painful one.

Peck goes on to say the the MEANING of LIFE is found/discovered/experienced in the process of solving problems.

He better be right.

The calling forth our courage and wisdom is the whole point.

I think you're just a little tired and need some charging of batteries.

I have to admit, when I first read this reply, I was stunned. I couldn't even reply back because I was at such a loss for words. I suppose that would be a normal reaction since I consider you one of my own personal cheerleaders and teachers!!!!.....

I really liked what Pep had to say. What are your views on that??....Do you think it could be just weeriness from all you two have experienced this last year?.....Could maybe a vacation help aliviate this??...(I can't think of a more deserving couple.... loveheart)....

Anyway, I wish I had words of wisdom for you, but since I don't how about me adding your marriage to my list of prayers???.....

Thanks Not, you and Pep might be right.

I'm going to start a new thread over on recovery -- probably a long time coming. I don't think what I have to say next should be read by newbies.
