Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes the revolution in order to establish the dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of torture is torture. The object of power is power.

I trust your judgment, and thanks for the hugs! The rest was undecipherable to me, but that's okay by me.

No but they did do some with great titles for this forum (and beyond)

"Desire"
"It's a Beautiful Day"
"In God's Country"
"I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"

and..maybe...

"Sunday Bloody Sunday"

I'm a bit commercial, I liked Pride best of all.

and just cos it was about NZ themes, I liked 'One Tree Hill'.

Not that the hill has a tree anymore...

Pride is a great one, Lil.

I thought the lyrics to OTH were about Bono's friend who crashed his motorcycle and died. Was that in NZ?

Jetting on, I like these lyrics too:

Yeah I'm waiting
Yeah I'm waiting
Yeah I'm waiting
Yeah I'm waiting

Sorta sums up my life!

Yes, he was Maori, from one of the Auckland Iwi, who ave certain cultural beliefs about the after life and One Tree Hill figures in that.

Maori activists attacked the tree with a chainsaw on several occasions until it was so dangerously damaged, the council cut it down...

Now most kiwi's call it None Tree Hill whistle

Wow, thanks for that info! I know a lot of U2 trivia but I'd not known that!

Jayne's thread is certainly getting a lot of "play".

Yeah, you're prolly right. We should go play elsewhere. Maybe OT since this definitely is.

I bumped the thread 'cause I got a chuckle out of "U2?".

I have no clue why it got bumped again days later.

But I think Jayne would like to see it just fall.

Hi all!

Yes please, feel free to play on my thread in my absence. All are welcome... bring presents... as long as your presents don't destroy someone else's presents!!! No presents eating other presents! No cats and mice living together in sin!
