I had to say something about this...was anyone else apalled by it... It depicted the mom(Lois) becoming unhappy about the comments the dad(Peter) was making about her age and appearance. Really mean and rude things about gray hairs and nasty thing about her body. Well, she finds herself attracted to her daughters boyfriend after he said she was attractive. Instead of talking to her husband she goes to her friend who admitted to having an affair. Saying it was healthy to explore one's sexuality. She basicly gave Lois permission to cheat and she made out with her daughters boyfriend and probably would have gone farther had she not gotten caught by her daughter. She confesses to her husband saying she has done something awful, but then starts blaming the husband for her actions. And then what happens, he feels bad for hurting her !!! Then they have make up sex right after she confesses!!! I know this is just a cartoon but it seems to me that they are condoning this behavior and saying that women cheat for different reasons than men UGHHHH!!!! Anybody with me?

I really jump my husband's case for watching the Simpsons, let alone Family Guy.
Watching Family Guy is the problem. You vote with your attention. If you want Family Guy off the air, stop watching. Call the advertisers' local locations and let them know you were offended. Better yet, send hard-copy letters to the HQ of those advertisers and let them know that until they stop advertising on Family Guy you won't be buying their products.
Weighting on written letters is something like 25,000 opinions similar to yours that didn't take the time to write.
So if you want to shut Family Guy down, which I do too, but won't waste my attention to find out who the advertisers are - post the list of the ads you saw tonight. Start a letter writing campaign in your church and local social circles. If you can get 1000 people to send letters postmarked from all over the country, that's 25 MILLION opinions - you're into some significant numbers.
To be shocked and do nothing is to endorse it!

Watch the episode where Loretta has an affair and Cleveland does everything he shouldn't, apologizes, moves out, etc...
Sigh.

How is this different from anything else that comes out of the LA/Hollywood crowd? It really is a different culture out there.

Ugh, I just think holly wood is just a terrible place where marriages last for a matter of hours and they brag about it! Where people treat others like they are disposable. I will never watch Mr. and Mrs. Smith because of what was happening behind the scenes and I think he cheated on Jennifer Anistan before he announced the separation. Affairs in Hollywood are enabled because of all the money that flies freely among so many other things, and I think they thinks it's completely acceptable to throw away a spouse in lieu of another and to just continue doing this for as long as they want to. I think these people are incredibly selfish. I can't bring myself to watch anything with either Brad Pitt or Angelina...I can't even bring my self to enjoy watching anything with Tom Cruise anymore either...I could go on and on!

Methinks the writers of FG have been reading on TOW.

I'd rather watch South Park.
And I do, at least South Park is funny.
I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.

Methinks the writers of FG have been reading on TOW. Yea, TOW is a sewer. So is another site I discovered, same deal, even less grownup if you can believe that. TOW and the other sewer seem to be mostly about women with a few guys thrown in. I haven't found a comparable site where males hang out. I did find one old thread on a certain site where predators were bragging to each other about how easy it was to manipulate married women into bed. Although both men and women are prone to infatuation, it seems to be much more afflicting with women. A look at bodice rippers is very, uh, revealing. The term "casanova" is based on a real person, a male renowned for seducing women hundreds of years ago. It is amazing to me the level of mental delusion that people engage to justify. I am not amazed at all at the fair number of males who have discovered how to manipulate those feelings in women, nor the somewhat smaller number of females who share that "Talent." Larry

"The Other Woman." A web site, apparently.

Well gloryb! I can't believe there's another site similar to TOW-- wonder if it as started by a disgruntled TOW poster.

From what I can gather, there are a bunch of tow spinoff's, they just dont seem to last very long as they're more poisonous, believe it or not
Anyway, family guy, simpsons, american dad, cleveland show are banned in our house, and I only watch south park sometimes.
I dont watch much TV - maybe 4 hours a week, and most of that is the news, and top gear. I'd rather read a book

Most Family Guy is not that bad...I just watch it for laughs and avoid the episodes about infidelity.

KR - I ask you to consider that you, as a viewer count as leverage on advertisers, who pay to keep the show on the air.
This "humor" comes at a cost to the American Family. And you are giving aid and comfort to the enemy just because they're funny and they only feature infidelity part of the time.
Think about it.
