My wife's twin sister's husband appears to have had a stroke and is hospitalized. More tests today, but there looks like some bleeding into the brain is present. First speculation overheard was a tumor.

He's my age, which while not young any more isn't all THAT old...He is pretty fit (works out regularly, does not have a lot of extra weight and has no history of heart of circulatory system problems.

SIL is not handling the pressure herself very well.

Thanks guys!

Not surprised that this wasn't replied to, but a bit surprised that it wasn't read except by a couple people so far.

BIL is being transferred from our large regional teaching hospital to Loyola in Chicago.

MRI revealed a large mass that seems to be the cause of the bleeding. Local surgeons are unwilling to try to operate, thus the transfer to Loyola. His condition has deteriorated rapidly all day today. He is scared, worried more for his wife than himself. SIL is not handling it well but my wife is going with her to Chicago tonight and we'll see what the morrow brings.

Good news, or at least as opposed to what might have been worse news...

BIL's problem is the result of a hemorrhage in the lower right rear portion of his brain. The dark "mass" originally seen on the cat scan proved to be the scars from a previous hemorrhage that went undetected until this one caused problems.

They went in with the micro camera through the artery in his neck last night and found that nothing needs to be fixed surgically right now. They have him back on real food (well, "soft food") and he is sitting up today.

Thanks to those who included us all in your prayers and don't stop just yet...

The "cancer guys" wanted to actually "see" what was there. Yesterday they went in and took out something that was clearly identifiable but we have not yet heard what is was.

Keep the prayers coming.

Thanks,

Mark

Know that there are those who are praying and God Himself is listening.
