I hope you don't mind if I open a new topic for this - WH made a memory upgrade to his old laptop a few years back and now I believe I am holding the old memory card in my hand - I had never even thought about it until today - is there data on it I could get? Like from a SIM of a phone?

BSFY,
If it is DRAM then no, is it flash or a hard drive??? Could you post a model number and manuf, and I'll do a quick check for you. If the memory is of the non-volatile type then any undelete program would allow you to retrieve erased data.

BSFY,
Sorry DRAM is just a collection of capacitors which are charged or discharged to represent a 1 or 0, so remove power and they lose all data. Now if he swapped out the harddrive you might have something or a USB flash drive.

BSFY,
Glad to help, I see you have PA? That is a killer, at least for me I'm still not sure if my wifes EA was PA too.
Check to see if there are USB memory devices, flash cards etc, it is usually a long shot, but just as in my case any data is good data.....

Thanks a lot Gamma - will keep looking - sometimes I feel that someone tries to keep the truth away from me for a reason to keep me safe - because the truth would be too much to take...
