As I posted in my inappropriate rant last weekend, this week is important to me in my faith. For me starting tomorrow is a day of preparation mentally and spiritually for Thurs., Good Friday, Sat., and of course Easter Sunday. Obviously no one human being can change their life in four days. But for me these four days are more of a preparation for at least trying to experience my own resurection in trying just a little bit to surrender more to God.

The sunday after Easter is actully more important to me because in my faith it is called Divine Mercy Sunday. At the expense of getting two by foured or routed out of here, this is my own belief and philosophy and it goes like this:

"I desire that the Feast of Mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and especially poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open."

That is not a quote from the New or Old Testament, but from a nun who in the early 20th Century experienced those words from Him. Anyway, all I wanted to do is simply share some of my feelings from my faith and about this time of year.

Yes there will be normal activities, and Char and I are going out Easter with our son to celebrate and be together, and obviously I am going to be as close to her as I can. My only reason in mentioning all this is that I want her and also me to get past what has happened the last several months and to honor again our committment. That means I have to get my head straight and ask God to squeeze out the resentment, uncertainty and the doubt I still feel. To do this I feel I need to devote my time now for next week or so to just focusing on my relationship with God.

I think I may have posted this before, can't remember, but in the words of a priest named Fr. Caropi, it is like this. I am most likely closer to death now that I was when I was in my 30's or even 40's...*s* Even so, I don't want to have Satan welcome me saying: "I won you and I want you". I would much rather, which either of us passes away last, be welcomed by the other standing beside Christ saying (in the words of fr. Caropi) "We want You".

So, simply Happy Easter to those who celebrate it and also to those who may not.

Tom
