Well Hi,

And no, the above title of this post is not about what some women may think about having illicit relationships, it is the title of a movie I just finished seeing.

It is quite dated...1956 to be exact. I rented it just because I like westerns and Randolph Scott, but I found it was more than that. Yep Scott does play the lonesome cowboy on a vengeance mission, but it also displays how some insisted on bringing to the screen in that day, simply honor and self respect, especially in relation to women, and other men for the matter. True, lots of testosterone of course, but also who besides Scott, John Wayne, Cooper, and perhaps Clint would dare to take on Lee Marvin. And, even his character had a degree of honor, altho not that much.

From what I have read tonight on internet about a review of the film, apparently John Wayne wanted to do the film, and altho his company produced it, Wayne was busy doing another film and so he called on his friend Scott to do the lead. Wayne also insisted on having another friend Lee Marvin play the protagonist.

And, a really good line in the movie from Scott to a wife: "A man ought to be able to protect his woman".

The movie is pretty old, but is still so relevant.

Well, I just realized this is kind of a stupid post w/o saying what I brought away from the movie and as it relates from my own experience and my experience here on this site. And, that is it takes a man with deep self respect to 1)stand down from pursuing a married woman, 2)refrain from cheating, and 3)stand on your priciples and values, and to defend them. Maybe it does feel you are riding lonesome in doing so, but I feel that there are very many who would like to ride along.
