This is a total whiney "me" moment...... dramaqueen

I'm having a rotten day.....

So I go to the oral surgeon to get a tooth pulled, like that isn't sucky enough!!!! And as the dentist is taking some pre-historic looking tools to my poor mouth, what comes on the radio???.........

Stupidestasssongever....."Lips of an Angel".....followed up by " Far Away".....The two affair songs the infidels dedicated to each other CONSTANTLY...... puke

They are the only triggers I cannot seem to handle......... rant2

THAT ticks me off.....it's been 2 yrs.....

I hate affairs.....

I've taken two Vicoden (for the tooth, not the trigger..... grin). When I wake up I hope this day will be better..... pray

Not

Not,

That is freaking weird. I had almost the exact same situation occur to me. Music is a tough one. I think it has a lot to do with the way you internalize the lyrics and such. Plus, it's a proven way to reinforce memory. Hence, musical triggers being a total PITA! Just my luck huh?

Anyhoo, being the computer wiz you are, after taking 2 vicodin you should probably step away from the keyboard now.

Sorry, Not. I hope you sleep through both the trigger and tooth pain.

It is so annoying to be somewhere, doing something and out of the blue, there's a trigger. And in the dentist chair, you can't even leave the room. Yuck.

Sorry you had to suffer through hearing those songs Not.

I totally understand. There are songs I cannot bear to listen to and it will be 10 years since Dday August 1st.

I can usually change the station or get out of the room, but have had to suffer through those songs on occasion.

The ow in my case actually dedicated one of 'our' songs to my FWH. So I feel for you.

It just sucks rocks, but at least you can come here and vent.

You could end up turning your PC into a Linux and have no farking clue what the heck went on.

Oh Not, "Lips of an angel." ARGH. THAT is a HORRIBLE song and I HATE it because Bampot knew all of the words to that stupid song. I used to ask him why he knew the words to THAT song.

What about "Follow Me" by Uncle Kracker? ARGH X 1000

I thought House stopped taking Vicodin recently?

Then again, I haven't watched in a while.

Ewww. I just Googled the lyrics to Uncle Kracker and never knew what that song was really about before. Gross.

Shortly after my D-Day I heard the song 'Lips of an Angel' and was immediately struck by it and it's meaning. At one point (in the dark days) I actually wanted to put it on my I-Pod, which thankfully I didn't because it made me feel so bad to listen to.

It is amazing how powerful those songs can be.

I don't know any of those songs. I'm a big nerd. I still like Chicago. But I can tell you all sorts of stuff about Lil Wayne, Justin Beiber, and Taylor Swift (my students' favorites).

Not, we all know how those triggers work. They totally suck.

I hope you feel better soon.

I always wondered why my WW stopped listening to "Take It On The Run" by REO Speedwagon. She liked the song at first, no complaints. Then suddenly when that song came on she would tell me to turn it off. Hit a little too close to home I guess.

The problem is now it bothers me to listen to it as well. Music is a big trigger for me and I'm always around it so it sucks.
