What's with this whole soulmate/kindred spirit nonsense?
I remember telling my WW, "There's 6 billion people on this planet, isn't it a little unusual that your soulmate would be your cousin's next door neighbor?"
WW had no response.

It's a way of justifying what they are doing.
It MUST be their soulmate. Stolemeat. Because--why ELSE would they leave their spouses and families behind! LOVE is all that can do that!

Personally, I am on my THIRD "soul-mate!"

I kind of think that if you have a 'soul mate' who conspires with you to be
dishonest and cruel to those who depend on and trust in you the most
then,
well,
That would be very sad to have a soul mate who brings that out in them

He's a liar, a hypocrite and a cheater. She's a liar, a hypocrite and a cheater.
Maybe they are soul mates.

an [censored]-h@le mate....I have a friend who went thru 30 of them. Yep. I think I mentioned her on one of the threads I post on. SHe is remarkable. ANd every one of them is the one...and special and she never loved anyone like him...till the next one. MY WH went thru a few of those. Maybe it takes a particularly childish, immature person to believe in the soul mate theory, blessing

WW had no response. Yes! They are definitely SOLEmates!

Has this idea of soulmate been fostered by the movies..? What kind of cultural device brought it about? It is certainly not something we carry from the cave men times! SO it must be a leaned pattern also because it does not work. If it were an integral part of being human, then we would only have one soulmate and keep him for the rest of our lives... blessing

OK, tell you DH that in your case Melody, you might be the exception to the rule and yes, he did find quite a woman, no doubt, so he is pretty lucky HOWEVER, I refuse to think that my WH OW has anything remotely resemblant to a soulmate of any kind. SHe is just a dumb-sell in distretch (she stretches her legs very well) blessing

Anyone whose soulmate would sleep with a married person needs to closely examine their soul.

Not just sleep...also sneack around! One day my son and i went of an icecream and we saw WH hiding behind a wall. SO my son says, why is daddy hiding behind there? I dunno, I said. Well, I did not know of the A then, but later on I found out that neighbor OW would pick WH up with her car. He would wait for her in the neighborhood and then they would go by car to some filthy little spot. WHo in the world would agree to such a behaviour???? You must be pretty low to do such things even if WH asked her to, she should have said: no way I do these things, hide and seek? blessing

Yes, I truly believe there is such a thing as a soul mate. I know my husband is mine and he says I am his. Been married for 44 years. Everyone said it wouldn't last, we were way too young to get married (me 18, he 19) but we are still in love. I really believe in soul mates.

Actually this whole soul mate thing originated from a Greek myth. It starts off that humans had four arms, four legs, two heads, ect. Then, the Greek god, Zeus, fearing their power, seperates them. Thus, dooming them to spend eternity looking for one another. So, to me that says a "soulmate" is a myth. But, I used to believe there was someone for everybody, and I still do. I'm just struggling with things like religion right now and trying to form my own ideas seperate from my all controlling mother.
So much peeling...where am I under all this peeling? Yoo-hoo, are you in there...nothing yet.

I learned something new at least.
