Okay, first of all, welcome. You need your own thread so we can address your issues apart from your WH's.

You should refrain from posting on or reading his thread, and he should do the same for you.

Here you go:

I'm the wife of respond2us. Just wanted to tell give a few of my own opinions after reading these posts.

My husband obviously came on here for help. He absolutely knows the damage he's done to our marriage and whether or not it can be repaired is yet to be seen. With that said, I love my husband. If I didn't feel there had been any change in him the last 9 months, I absolutely would have gotten out of the marriage. I am still not convinced by any means that he is "fixed" or this will never happen again, but I feel like he has made progress by leaps and bounds.

As for my own affair, it started as a result of him giving me zero emotional connection because he was giving it to the other woman. Yes, there were many women, but one woman specifically for over a year. I used my other man as a comfort, or retreat from trying to deal with the shock of what I'd found out. It was by no means the right thing to do and I ultimately made the decision to do it. Not to get back at my husband, but only to feel some type of comfort. I have not had any contact with him in about 2 months now and our affair lasted about 7 months total.

My husband is specifically wanting help on our intimacy issues. I am having a VERY hard time dealing with this. I can't seem to get past the visions of him sleeping with some of my very best friends. Not to mention having delt with a very scary STD as a result of his affairs. And for the record, he and I have both been tested negative for anything else, thank God.

I appreciate all the helpful posts.

Couple of questions:

When did you discover the extent of his infidelity? Did he just dump all 16 women on you at one time, or did they come out separately over stretches of time?

Can you tell us what he has done in the past nine months that makes you think he's making progress?

I'm going to take a quote of yours and tweak it a bit (I'll be in red.) Can you see the point of my changes?

Your WH owns his affairs. You own yours. No one made either one of you commit adultery. Can you see where your sentence makes your WH own YOUR affair, and where my changes returns the responsibility for your affair to its rightful owner?

I appreciate that you later agree that having an affair wasn't the right thing to do, but you need to remove any thought in your head that you had an affair "as a result" of anything your WH may or may not have done. You could have divorced him as a result of his affairs and been free to date, right? Yet you chose to have an affair. YOU own that decision.

I can see where you would be having a hard time with intimacy. The two of you need to fall in love. Right now I think there is a lot of anger and resentment that both of you are feeling. That makes it hard to want to be intimate.

Have you started reading the articles on this site? Look at the article regarding the most important emotional needs. Print off the questionnaires and work on them. Let us know what you discover.

R2us2,

You say that you haven't had any contact with OM but this is what your H said:

Please be advised that having OM as a FB contact is considered contact and will keep you stuck. He must be deleted and blocked. If he has your email address or cell phone #, those need to be changed as well as deleting any pictures, emails, as those will keep you triggered as well...

NC for both of you is essential before you can go on to the next steps!
