It's not all glamor and reward. I have to look into the eyes of pain too. Pain and broken bodies don't take a break for Christmas.

This little Barred Owl came in with both his wings broken. He had been sitting on the ground for some time when an elderly woman was walking her dog and spotted him. She had a smart phone of all things and keyed in Owl vet and the first place that popped up was Hawk Talk rehab center. She wrapped him in her coat and brought him straight to us with the GPS in the phone.

He knows he is being helped and accepts it with gratitude. He will lean his little head down for me to rub it and warble. He hurts so bad and wants the pain to go away.

Pariah,

I am sure your touch helps take the pain away from that precious little owl.

You are truly blessed.

Merry Christmas Pariah!

Love in Christ,
Miss M

I used these videos and several more images for an Owl-a-Thon at another forum I frequent with permission of the owner. In the last 24 hours the members have donated over $2500 to the center to help my broken little friends.

One guy donated $500 if I would show the Great Horned Owl doing his mating ritual with the "shag hat". Monteen gladly capitulated.
