I don't know that I have ever seen this addressed here on the boards.
THIS IS ME JUST ASKING THIS QUESTION-WONDERING-
Should the OM's or OW's cell phone just happen to land on your lap would you use the phone book from it to text and EXPOSE/RE-EXPOSE the A making it known how you came to have poseesion of the phone?
Just asking if this would be advisable should it ever occur IRL.
Thanks

Nesre Well. My, my, my. Wouldn't that be manna from heaven. You say their phone just happened to land in my lap? Well, I think I would be motivated to find the rightful owner of that phone. So I'd probably go through every contact name in the address book and write down their number, just for the sake of accuracy. I'd probably go through the texts and photos, too, just in case I could glean more information there. On the proper owner's name, of course. But you know, I'm a real butterfingers when it comes to hanging on to those skinny new cell phones. Heck, I drop mine all the time. I'm sure I'd probably do something silly like drop it into the toilet right after I got all the info. So I guess tracking down the rightful owner of that phone wouldn't serve a purpose at that point. But I've still got the info...

Thanks MB Just asking if this would be advisable should it ever occur IRL. How about expose/re-expose? To me your saying no. Am I correct? Speculation of course: Would it change it if the POS had a LTGF? Maybe she would like the phone and how it came into possession?

I'm saying expose to every number on there! You say he's got a GF? I might be tempted to get the cell phone to her, but I'm not sure what your goal is, here. You mean to deliver it to her and tell her how you got it? But...it just dropped out of the blue, right? I mean, how are you going to tell her you came to be in possession of it?

If that would occur I would most definitely send out a mass text message to all his contacts on that phone.

Nesre, I think that would have to depend on where in the process the BS and WS are, and what possible repercussions would boomerang onto their relationship.
Kicking over a hornet's nest isn't a good idea if you stand over it. If OM/OW is rapidly disappearing in the rear-view mirror, don't take you foot off the gas to "moon" them out the rear window.
Garnering information to return the device to the rightful owner would be justifiable. Keep that data secure, and forego for the moment the temptation to make trouble just for the sake of making trouble.

Would it change it if the POS had a LTGF? Maybe she would like the phone and how it came into possession? I think that after going through the address book and taking copious notes (never know when the battery will go out), and looking through the photos as suggested above in an effort to determine the rightful owner of the phone... ..that every effort should be made to return the phone to the OM LTGF. I mean, she is probably the best one to return the phone to him anyway, right? And she should learn the entire story of how the phone came into your possession, so she can best advise her WBF on how to better keep track of his phone in the future. Hypothetically, of course..

That's not causing trouble, that's helping another poor soul avoid future heartache.

Eyes on the prize; eyes ALWAYS on the prize. I agree, mooning them would be a waste of time. Instead, you line up your shot, hold your breathe, and remember; squeeze, don't pull.

The truth I believe in this scenario some would be new exposesure and some would be REexpose. GOAL The original exposure targets of the OM/OW did not reach the full potential.

GOAL The original exposure targets of the OM/OW did not reach the full potential. Well, you've got the cell phone, now. There should be plenty of numbers in there to reach someone who can apply pressure on the waywards. I'm assuming GF got the 'good news' originally? Keep in mind, nesre, I'm giving you advice without knowing the whole story.
