I am a regular poster, & am asking for much prayer in the area of direction. My husband is graduating this Spring w/a Music degree & is (currently) employed (part time, no benefits, no retirement) with our smaller congregation as a worship leader. He had told the leadership he wants to "leave his options open for God's direction & timing". Meanwhile, we are expecting our 3rd baby this March. I am working full time, benefits, retirement, etc.. and the grandmothers on both sides have provided more than their share for care of our boys. They are tired. I am tired. I am asking for prayer for direction for my husband - how does the practical commandment of "providing for your family" and waiting on God's timing work together? I feel like I will never, ever, stop working. I would like to go back part time to work, or possibly with a different job that I have a passion for, but our children cannot be without insurance, etc.. and I am able to work. Please ask for guidance & patience. I am confused & don't know where to go with my conflicting emotions.

Thank you!

What I think I hear you saying is everyone is working hard to take care of 3 kids while your husband attends school and works. Being in the ministry can be difficult at times. I have know pastors who have gone a year or more without a church to serve in. Many during those times will work as necessary to meet the needs of their family. God never said life would be easy and I believe when you give yourself up for others it becomes even more difficult. In fact I think you can attest to that because you have given up for your husband to complete school. I pray your husband will see clearly the opportunities ahead of him and that he would also understand the needs of his family. If you have not communicated your feelings with your husband I suggest doing so.

Father I pray for this couple that you would give them guidance in their life. I pray for the wife who seems weary that you would give her strength. I thank you Lord for the support of the family and what they have done to help. Lord I pray you will open up opportunities to this husband and place him where you desire for him to serve while also ministering to his family and their needs. Father thank you for loving them.

In Jesus name,
Amen
