I have been here before about four years ago. I was pregnant and my husband was having a affair with a girl he met online. Eventually he broke it off and we have been trying to mend the marriage.
A few months ago we decided to live apart. He lives with his sister while we were working on things and trying to date each other again and find that spark. While at his sisters house he found a virtual game called Second Life and started playing it.
I found out about it and he says this married woman of 3 small children that lives across the country brings him more love and makes him feel alive again than I do. He now wants a divorce to live out his virtual fantasy with this girl.
I am heartbroken. I am lost yet again... I feel like giving up

Mainly I just wanted to let you know there is a couple on here with a very similar story (only gender reversed I believe) that are in Recovery. Nights and weekends get slow with posting so if you can keep coming back it may help them to see you story. A few months ago we decided to live apart. Hi Lost, my suggestion would be to go into Plan B and file for divorce so you are legally protected. He is a serial cheater and unless he makes a dramatic 180 change in his life, this will be your future. But he has no reason to change. Sorry you are back here.

Thanks for the support! I agree with you melody that he is a serial cheater. He sat down with me a few days ago and told me that he knows that he cannot control himself when it comes to woman who "blow him away". He feels since he is being honest what is going on this time that it's ok to do what he is doing. He added the girl to his facebook page and deleted me. I just shake my head at how crazy he has become over a woman he met on a virtual game. Willing to throw everything away to continue with her. Even if he knows he won't be with her in real life.
I sent him one last message of what he knows has to be done if he was to work things out with me. I have went completely silent on him. I do not pickup his calls, no emails, and I plan to just go away to my parents this weekend unless he plans a visit by a email then I will have a friend here to allow him to take the kids for a few hours.
I cannot do this again. I know that I need to file for divorce. I just feel so scared. I recently lost my job and have no income other than what he gives me for the children. I am in school but I do not graduate until Nov. I feel lost and alone.

Sadly, this "woman" on Second Life could actually be a man. Or a child. It's a virtual world. If he is "blown away" by virtual avatars, he needs help. Unless he's actually met her, there is no telling who "she" is, even with a Facebook page.
Don't put up with a serial cheater.
