This is an interesting article. Not sure if this is the right place for it, but it feels pretty relevant. We all knew this, of course. Excerpt: "...researchers have found that the same brain networks that are activated when you're burned by hot coffee also light up when you think about a lover who has spurned you." To the brain, getting burned, getting spurned feel the same.
